I was working on a project of this unofficially... the only reason I paused is because I have other projects going on and I heard Paizo is doing this in either the APG or the Gamemaster's Guide... I may pick it back up if there's enough interest. There's a lot of 3.5 stuff out there too FWIW. I found a couple pathfinder ones, but one was missing numbers and a straight port from the Diablo II book and the other just seemed to unbalanced, and that's pretty important to me. Good luck... FWIW

I don't think it fair of Paizo to not include this in their "Core" rulebook, but to make us pay extra for basic rules.

The d20 SRD is at http://www.wizards.com/d20/files/v35/Treasure.rtf
It has some formatting problems, but it will get you random treasures.

The GameMastery Guide devotes 20 pages to the random item generator tables. Are you really sure you'd want another 20 pages in the Core Rulebook? I happen to think it's a bit on the large side as it is. Besides, a lot of the other information in the GMG could also be considered basic rules on the same level as random treasure tables.
Besides, you're not paying extra.. In D&D 3.0/3.5, you'd have to buy 3 books to have the core rules rather than only 2. So you're actually paying less :)

I bought the Game Mastery Guide and I am quite pleased with it's content. Still, I think I will eventually be doing a diablo style treasure generation system that is balance. I hate the idea of a first level character randomly rolling a +5 vorpal sword and either having to take it away or having them overshadow all the other characters.
It'll probably be a while down the road, but depending on the size it'll either be free or reasonable inexpensive. :)

You should always roll treasure before the session, not during it. That way, not only will you be able to re-balance if something ridiculous does pop up, but also the monster might be able to use the item(s) that you roll in the encounter. It would be silly for a monster to attack you with an old rusty longsword if it had a +2 flaming longsword in its backpack :)
I learned my lesson after letting my 11th-level party roll a Dragon's treasure.. They got a +9 equivalent weapon, and a useful staff!

As a D.M. that switched from 4e back to Pathfinder because my group likes the system better, there are only two things I don't like about Pathfinder. Lack of random treasure tables and the G.M. screen. I had hoped to find a random treasure table inside the G.M. screen similar to what 3.5 had been using, along with more relevant information. Instead I got a breakdown of skills that players use infrequently. I feel the G.M. screen was money wasted that would have been better spent on the Gamemastery Guide. The Guild had some nice random item tables, but alas, no random treasure tables.
