Inventions to make life easier

if you could invent ANYTHING to make your life a bit more simple, what would it be?

I would like to suggest a cream you apply after shaving, that stops you needing to shave again for, say, a month

I'd like a device that attaches to the mailbox which incinerates junk mail and leaves important missives untouched.

Liberty's Edge

I'd like a musical instrument even anyone could play with skill with little or no training.

Core Waste Dump from Master of Orion 2. Get rid of all junk forever.

*holobands from the tv show caprica*

It's called an intern.

There are multiple services that provide this. Amazon, Google Play, My Music Cloud, etc.

You need to define the context and practical meaning of all those terms, but that sounds like a job for Linux or some other UNIX based system. I know I've set up WRT based routers with IP Tunneling and VPN before and the only real challenge of doing so with a full blown PC would be sourcing a suitable dual hosted MB or, more practically, a suitable add-on network card that will fit in a book or cube case. Or just go to the local swap meet, but a cheap old desktop and a cheap PCI NIC and have at it.

This pretty much exists. It's called Plex, you can set up your own music server and play music via web, IOS device, Android device, Apple TV and others.

The server is cross platform as well, it can be set up on MacOS, Windows, various router based devices, Drobo, and others.
