So I am starting up this side campaign for a few of my players who actually make an effort to show up all of the time so we are not held back by those who don't.
We are throwing around ideas, one character really likes the Druid to Blackclad idea. The other character like the idea of an arcane mechanik.
Now how they heck would they be friends? One hates technology, cities and industry in general the other thrives on it.
Cue the odd couple theme song and throw out some ideas to help us make this work!

Squabbling Brothers? Old friends that haven't really seen each other since being accepted into their version of magic school.
Hehe, and the players are brothers too!
So what kinds of goals would they actually agree upon reaching together?
"I want to destroy the strip mining facility"
"I'll help but I get to loot all of the ore !"
Hrmmm with the greed of the players in mind, this just might work.

Druids don't hate technology, cities, and industry.
I've seen this misconception before.A city is like an ant hill for humans. Druids are, by default, no more opposed to cities than they are ant hills. They just choose not to live there. They don't like things out of balance and, when cities are harmful to the ecology, they don't like the cities. Technology is to humans what wings are to birds. Again, only disliked when it is harmful to the ecology.
Is this some particular role playing decision for this particular druid or something about a particular druid sect?

Maybe the Arcane mechanik, while being quite techno, represents a reasonable techno faction that nonetheless opposes the Big Evil techno power...forced to join with the obvious Resistance, kind of like a grudging buddy cop movie. (Inspector Chan, Inspector Rock, you will be working together on this case...oh, noooooo!)
