After lurking on the boards for a few months now, I'm finally ready to jump into the message board pool. (and to prove I'm no sock puppet, I'll be posting my otd pic later today.)

I am proof that it is never too late to try something new. I'm in my forties and just started playing 3.5 with my boys and wife last summer. (They have been RPGers for a long time.) Now I am caught: hook, line and sinker. With the demise of 3.5, I have turned toward Pathfinder to continue the journey.

What first attracted to me Pathfinder was the connection to the 3.5 rules (my boys have a ton of books). But what really sold me was the close community you all have. Plus the fact that Lisa (CEO) posts at 3:00 am just blew me away.

I've enjoyed reading many of the threads and literally laughed out loud reading some of them. I really started paying attention at the beginning of Mr. Fishy's fan club.

Looking forward toward serious (and not so serious discussion). Now, if I can just decide which cult to join...

Welcome Hands out rum

Welcome aboard! As the Herald of His Baron-Esquire Supreme Fishyness, Urizen proclaims that His Fishyness is always welcome to more followers. ;)

Sovereign Court

Join the Jack cult!

And welcome to the boards btw!

Scarab Sages

Welcome. I noticed from you profile that you're in Texas. We've already got several Texans here, I believe, but the more the merrier. Sadly, I am not one of those Texans, but maybe someday....

As for Cults - I'd suggest either my own cult (but you'd need an undead alias), or Vomit Guy's cult (technically also mine), because everyone loves him**.

Spoiler:
**Not really, but I can dream.

Silver Crusade

The cults are not mutually exclusive.

But while we're on the subject, have you considered the virtues of a Celestial way of life?

Liberty's Edge

Welcome aboard! You won't find a better gaming board out there, IMHO.

Don't do it, it's a pyramid scheme!

Liberty's Edge

Welcome to the boards. Lilith should be around with e-cookies soon.

Welcome! Stay away from the poodles they're not quite housebroken.

You know you are a gamer when... you hear "pyramid scheme" and think of an evil mummy's dastardly plot to control the surrounding floodplains...

Welcome and enjoy!

Well my new PbP character is a dwarven cleric. He may have to visit the Thread Celestial.

and to answer a few other comments,

Texas - I'm not a native, but it is great.

Thanks for the rum - Normally I wouldn't drink it right now but I am on vacation today.

Hands out rum? Who the hell is Hands out rum? The original poster was Tordek Rumnaheim. You're supposed to say "Welcome, Tordek Rumnaheim." Gosh, what are they teaching in schools nowadays?

Or did you means Hans Outrum of the Boston Outrums? I didn't think he ever posted here.

You may not be a sock puppet, but that still doesn't mean you're some Dwarf warrior from "that other company."

Would it blow you away even more if she welcomed you to the boards and the hordes of our crazy but cool fans? :)

But seriously, I am glad you took your first step into a larger world. Things can get a bit crazy around here at times, but this is the greatest group of people I have ever been around on the web, and I am happy that they have chosen paizo.com as their roost.

So welcome!

Um, yes. I--I mean, Angel Fish, would truly despise him--I mean, me. I hate me--him, too, of course. Very much. That is because I--we are completely different fish. Of course, I'm not a fish. I'm a, um, sea cucumber. With fake fins. I am undercover. Yes. And now, my disguise having failed, I will, ah, hmm. Run away, I think. Yes.

He'll have to get a Mona alias for Mona Day.

Welcome to the Paizo boards! Hope you enjoy your stay.

Tordek, welcome to the boards. As a fellow Texican welcome to our second home away from home. Might I invite you to visit our little Houston Con in Feb 2011? It's called OwlCon and we had a blast this year and plan to beat our record next year.

Be careful of Lilith's cookies they are addicting.

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

Welcome to our crazy little family!

Yes welcome, Tordek.

For everyone else, I will simply leave this here. Again.

New person! Huzzah! Welcome to the boards! Have some cookies! *offers a plate of virtual cookies*

Welcome to the Paizo boards. You're just in time for the last round of RPG Superstar (if you weren't voting silently already) and don't forget the PaizoCon events of this summer, the main official one being in Seattle (USA) in June, and our own unofficial fan one in the UK being in July...
