Artival's magic strikes true. The demon clambers over the dead ogre, which twitches as the abyssal slime drips down on it, and stabs Roylenna for 10 points of damage.
Gregori didn't beat its initiative so hasn't been able to move yet.
You're up (all of you). Note that the demon has reach from his longspear.
Black Tom
Enlarge person has a casting time of 1 round to Gregori isn't enlarged yet. Also Roylenna withdrew, which is a full-round action, so she hasn't even begun to cast it. That means that the demon gets an AoO and you may need to recalculate the damage.
Ka'kara fails to find a vulnerable spot on the demon's leathery body. The demon stabs at Gregori as he charges it, but is thwarted by his holy zeal. He smites it with a mighty blow, just as Artival's magic strikes it yet again. The demon is starting to look badly hurt and roars in pain and fury.
Mahaffy still to go, then the demon.

Yeah damage is 14 instead

Sorry, got excited and thought we were in the next round already.

The monster was rending through the party with apparent ease, and the only thing that Artival could do was to keep chipping away with his magic.
Magic Missle 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3, 2) + 3 = 9
Spell Penetration 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Gregori spins, his blade darting back from the acid as he sees Kakara charging in. He shifts in the opposite direction His blade slashing a blazing arc across the demon's torso.
1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
1d10 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15Including flanking, Ignores DR

Even normal-sized, Gregori lops the demon's head off its shoulders, sending it rolling. And netting you all 343 xp each.
The monster's spear is masterwork but made of some strange bony material. It's not magical, though.
Knowledge (planes) 25:
What are you going to do about the wounded ogre?
Apart from that, there isn't much of interest left to explore on this level, so I suggest we fast-forward a bit and wrap it up. I'll show you the map. You can either go deeper down or go back to town.
Roylenna Brenoien
Seeing the demon fall to Gregori's masterful strike, Roylenna breathes a sigh of relief and cancels the spell she was casting. Does she lose the slot?
She will move to try to aid the ogre.
"Lyria, can you provide more healing and include him? He did not hurt us and it cannot hurt to have someone his size think favorably of us down here, right?"
Heal check 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Ka'kara Furyheart
After Roylenna checks on the ogre Ka'kara walks up to her with a stern glint in her eyes. Taking her greatsword by the blade she hands the halfling the hilt of the huge (to Roylenna) weapon. Unable to hold her faux-stern look any longer, her face breaks into a big grin and she winks, "Since your taking my place at the front of our little band and deciding to charge the enemy I suggest you carry that around."

With a sheepish grin, she says, "I wasn't trying to be in front, Mahaffy was in front of me. I just wanted to make sure my spell reached him, too."
Ka'kara Furyheart
With an innocent look, she looks at the dwarf. "Why? You were right to retreat -- I just didn't react quickly enough. He moved very fast!"
Obviously intentionally ignoring Roylenna's response and ribbing her further, "You know. I could just toss you way in front to bait out whatever big toothed thing is lying in wait. That ot to fill that daredevil need." At Roylenna's look, "Oh no no, I would have a rope tied to you so I could pull you and the attached critter back for a good walloping for daring to bite my little sister." She suddenly stop as something dawns on her, "Hey! What's the BIG idea making Gregori big and not me?!"
Lyria Ghoulbane
"I'll see what I can do", Lyria says and approaches the unconscious ogre, checking his condition and trying to do her best to heal him.
Heal Check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24. If this isn't enough, Lyria will also cast a Cure Moderate Wounds for 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 = 11 (switched Shield Other)
Black Tom
The ogre has been stabbed savagely and repeatedly by the demon's spear. He is unconscious but stable. Lyria's attentions and magic bring him back to life.
In Giant:
Roylenna Brenoien
"Thank you, Lyria."
The thing that tried to kill you was a demon. It's dead now. We are going to leave for a while, but we will be back. Is there something you need? Do you have a way out of the tunnels?"
Black Tom
I'll just assume that Roylenna will translate.
"There used to be a way out farther down but now there are too many nasties with pointy things, so I daren't go there any more. If you could bring something to eat that would be super. I'll just find a place to rest and wait until the nasties go away."
By now there aren't many places left for you to go. There is still the tower of course, but in the dungeon there is basically only the gnomish fort and the sloping passage down.
Which would you prefer and would you want to go upstairs first to recuperate? Don't forget that the babau head is worth a 50 gp bounty. ;)
Artival Brisboir
If we are going back to town, as Artival suggested, I say we give the ogre our rations and we can get him some more in town. It would never hurt to have a friendly ogre when we come back and explore the sloping passage down.
Artival Brisboir
Artival hands his rations and waterskin over to Roy, not quite trusting the ogre might not eat him instead, if he attempted to hand them to the creature. Find out what his favorite is, Roy, and we might be able to bring him a real dinner."
Also, don't forget we have a potion of gaseous form someone needs to aclaim and a mystery potion we need to have identified.
Black Tom
The ogre looks a bit embarrassed. It turns out his favorite is elf, but he'll settle for anything that isn't rat. He agrees to stay and wait for you, though, and mutters something about you being decent for small folk and that he is sorry but hitting folks over the head just is the ogre way. He won't hit you, though. You are honorary ogres. Besides you are way more powerful than him and it's the ogre way not to hit people more powerful than you.
So... back to town to rest a bit, then? And then what?

LOL, I love it!
I believe the suggestion on the table is to return down here to explore the passage down, ogre muscle in tow.
Mahaffy
Things Mahaffy will do in town :
* Go to see the guatd and inform them that one exit of the catacomb is in the town mill .
* Go to the temple and ask if they can do anything about his broken axe . If he remembers rightly , we have the money of the invisibility rng who could be converted in magical items ? He assume it also can be converted in spell casting
Black Tom
Cael Angus easily restores Mahaffy's axe (no charge). He says that the local smith Ulf Ironfist would do it normally, but he's been under the weather lately and hasn't picked up his hammer in several days.
The guards sound surprised that there is an exit from the catacombs under the mill, and relay the information to the captain, who promises to have it seen to.
Fitch the barman orders a feast for you at the Market Tavern and Rasputin is eager to hear about your exploits. Although everyone is a bit sad about Molly and the windows are boarded up, there is much rejoicing.
You can rest for a bit and then return to explore the sloping passage, I guess. Unless there is something else you want to do while in town.
Artival Brisboir
We need to have a potion identified, and need to collect our 50 gp bounty for the demon's head. Anyone else think of something we need to do, other than get the ogre some grub? Maybe we could convert the 50 gp bounty into a decent rack of meat for the big fella.
Black Tom
Speaking to the workers at the mill, Mahaffy manages to uncover some dirt on Danver the miller.
It seems that he has changed lately. He used to be quite the womanizer, but now he does not heckle every farmer’s daughter that enters the mill with a bushel of wheat. In fact, he now chides them for “letting him get away”. He is hardly seen around the taverns and inns he used to frequent, and he recently spent a large sum of money on the newest´and gaudiest clothing and jewelry in Raiment Row.
Mahaffy
Mahaffy will come back and share the above information .
I find it interesting that no one knows who Danver's lover is . Now we have two choices : the direct way or the more subtile one .
The direct way consists in asking Danver some questions but we have no way of forcing him to reply . The other is to trail him when he goes to see her . I think chances are good he does so at night so if you want we can go back underground for the rest of the day .
