We are still in initiative - Colvin and Stone are next to act

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

If Colvin cannot see Ganga Lor to shoot at him he will try to move into a position where he can shoot at him. Not sure what the modifier on such an action would be.

Colvin has no desire to discuss anything with Ganga Lor and tries to finish him off with a blaster shot.

Ranged Blaster Attack - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Blaster Pistol Damage - 3d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 4, 4) + 1 = 12

Colvin moves to the doorway and peers around. He notices the large, ugly beast pulling out a thermal detonator. A flash of surprise and resignation cross the alien's face as he meets his doom at the expert shot from Colvin. Colvin's quick action occurred before the device could be activated.

The smell of ozone and burnt flesh permeate the air as you hear Allerick muttering and fidgeting with various tools. His skilled hands are a blur as he races to repair the damaged droid.

Allerick needs about another 45 minutes before the droid can be reactivated.

You are now out of initiative. Let me know what you will be doing in the time it takes for Allerick to work his magic.

Are Stone and Allerick the only wounded from our side of the fight? Or I should say, those who were on our side at the end of the fight?

Alistair got hit as well. He is down 13 hit points at the moment.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Colvin turns around and looks at Stone, "Can you take a look at the shot on my back. It hurts like anything and feels pretty bad".

Colvin looks at Eyva, "Negotiations are a pre-combat not mid-combat solution. You claim you are not a spacer or a criminal, it might be time to start thinking like one. Unless of course next time you want to receive the surprise our friend had for us in the hall".

Colvin sits on Switch's desk and begins to pull up his shirt so Stone can tend to his wound.

"Not all of us are as used to situations such as these as you seem to be, friend," Alistair responds to Colvin's remark with a smile, his gun once again in its holster. "If nothing else, it should be rather obvious from my aim."

The man sighs softly. "Regardless, we are all still alive and more or less in one piece. And once Stone over here has a chance to take a look at our wounds, I am sure we will feel even better."

Here is what I show:

Allistair down 13hp (-1 on condition track as well)
Stone down 3hp (Used 2nd Wind for the day)
Colvin down 12hp
Twi'lek down 6hp

For those of you who used Force Points, please update your character sheet to show your new total.

Alistair has actually used the necessary three consecutive swift actions (one swift action in one round, after he got injured, and two more in the next one) to get rid of his -1 condition. Also, he has taken 14 hit points of damage (I was mistaken when I said 13, sorry).

"I need more time to get this pile of bolts back into a working condition. At least an hour and a half. At least. Are we safe here or do we need to, you know, get somewhere where people are less likely to shoot at me while I work?"

Holstering her junky-looking blaster, Kess says, "I fight in self-defense. I'm not a killer. If I can get someone to back down without killing them, I'll take that option. Simple as that."

Moving to the Twilek, she says, "Any suggestions on where to go? Might be necessary to find another hidey-hole for a bit."

The Twi'lek considers what Kess has to say and offers, "The officials like COMPNOR and the Imperials are bribed to steer clear of here. Between that and the condition of this part of the station, we should be okay for the time it will take for your mechanic to work. Ganga Lor may have allies on the way though but we can't know that for sure. Provided we set guards, we should be okay here."

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

"Once Stone patches me up I will take the first watch. So Eyva would you liked to have discussed terms with Ganga Lor before or after he threw a thermal detonator at you? I call what I did hostile negotiations and it works for me, in fact if not for me this whole area would be a pile of ruins. Once the blasters come out discussion time is over, I didn't shoot first but I damn well want to be able to shoot last. I respect your beliefs and I am not trying to be a jerk but the goal is to live through this. We are not helping anyone by getting ourselves killed".

Treat Injury roll for Allerick 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Treat Injury roll for Colvin 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Treat Injury roll for Twi'lek 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

He'll also as the Twi'lek Are there more medical supplies around here?

When Stone is able, Alistair would also appreciate a look at his injuries. :-)

Alistair Cray wrote:

Allerick is not injured, just Alistair. I am assuming that roll was for you. I will allow you to take 10 on that instead, which gives Colvin and Alistiar +5 to their HP.

The Twi'lek, still eyeing Allerick working, nods over to a nearby crate. He turns quickly and opens it up to reveal an array of supplies, including medpacs and a medical kit. He pulls several out and tosses them to Stone.

"Well, this feels a little better," Alistair remarks after Stone is done with him. "I am certain that with a little rest I will be good as new."

Walking towards Allerick and Switch, he looks down at the damaged droid with interest. "How is it going? Salvageable I hope?"

"If I had more parts I could make him smarter or better able to dodge a blaster bolt. As it were, I'm settling for putting him back together as good as before. It's an insult to my talents, but it'll have to do."

"Obviously, I can't have known that he had a thermal detonator! I act on what I know, Colvin. I'm just trying to avoid killing any more people than I have to."

Nodding to the Twi'lek, Kess steps away from him, and looks out into the hall. "I'll take the second watch, should it prove necessary. Let's get Switch up and running, and get out of here."

Sorry, I did mean Alistair. That was intended for him.

Stone has a medical kit, but he'll certain take advantage of the medpacs! I haven't seen this many burn injuries since the that plasma fire in the mines, and that's been some years.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Colvin nods to Stone, "Thanks, that is a hell of a lot better".

Colvin looks at Evya, "The point I am trying to make is that with scum like Ganga Lor you have to assume he has one. I don't enjoy killing I just do it when I have to. I will let it go, let's be friends again". Colvin winks at her and takes a position at the edge of the doorway so he can see the hall but not be seen in turn.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

Stealth 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Colvin will take the first watch. Kess will take the second watch. Each watch will be 30 minutes long unless you have more volunteers.

Unless the Twi'lek stops him, Stone will stock up on a few more medpacs to make sure his medkit is restocked. He has a very bad feeling he'll be needing more before this is all over...

The minutes drag by slowly. After such a pitched battle, each little noise jars frayed nerves in just about everyone.

As Stone ventures over to the medical supplies, the Twi'lek intervenes. "I gave you what was owed, which was what you used. If you want more, you'll have to pay or negotiate with Switch when he is active again."

The first watch ends without incident and Colvin materializes from his hiding spot. Kess is up for her watch now.

Taking a similar spot to Colvin's, Kess peers out into the hall.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Stone holds up the extra medpacs to the Twi'lek. I'm going to carry these until we get our cargo and Switch is safe. Then I'll pass them back. I just want to be ready in case we are ambushed again. He does not put them in his pack since this is the case. He'll hold them in his left hand, keeping his right free for his blaster.

Let me know when Allerick finishes!

While it dragged on as if it was an eternity, the hour Allerick spent fixing the droid finally ends. He rubs his grimy hands on his coveralls and depresses the activation mechanism for the administration droid.

He sputters to "life" with clicks and whirls as his sub-routines initiate. His photoreceptors light up and then open and close as if he is blinking.

"Mr. Donata - status report." the droid state matter-of-factly to the Twi'lek bodyguard.

The Twi'lek responds with what happened with Ganga Lor as well as the defection of the Switch's other guards. He summarizes the firefight and your team's exploits, including how Allerick performed repairs.

"Very well. We had a deal - you are to supply me with on-going information and I will tell you where to find the cargo. Are we still agreed on that?" asks Switch to the party.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Colvin replies, "Sure that agreement still seems solid to me, you give us the cargo and we will give you on-going information. As far as the cost of repairing you, that will be about 2,000 Credits unless Allerick charges more than that. The cost of eliminating your turncoats will be about 200 per turncoat per credit, I doubt anyone would have paid a higher bounty for them. So it looks like you owe us 2,600 credits."

"Mr. Dashwind, you seemed to have developed quite a sense of humor. I like that. However, I negotited the fee for the cargo and you agreed. I am simply reaffirming that fact before I reveal the location of the cargo. Without that information, you have nothing. In fact, I can still sell that information to the imperials for more than you are currently offering. Since you are here first, I am acting in good faith."

"As to the repairs you made, you were simply acting in your best interest. Had I not been repaired, you would have nothing. You acted in a manner that met your immediate needs, nothing more. To ask for compensation for that is bad form. As to the turncoats, I am sure you were acting in self-defense and would have done the same regardless of whether or not I was here. Besides, that is why I have Mr. Donata here."

The Twi'lek moves over and whispers in the droid's audio processor."I will, however, make you an offer. In the same area where your cargo is held, you will also find a case of Corellian Ale that was on the Stellar Princess that Ganga Lor had impounded on me. If you take that case to Alderaan to a contact I have there, I will allow you to keep the medpacs your friend Mr. Stone has been provided."

"What do you say?" concludes the droid.

"I say b~&*+@!s!" Allerick moves up the droid and shakes his finger in the droid's photoreceptors. "You know darn well that I could have hacked your processor and retrieved any information I wanted! I proved that when I put your cybernetics back together without damaging any vital portions. You OWE me, droid and go ahead, try to weasel out of it. I think you'll find that I left a small bit of processing in your system that might come to be quite troublesome down the road. We'll honor the original agreement, but repairing your metallic butt wasn't on that deal. You owe us a favor and you'll do well to remember it!"

Allerick's face has grown flushed and red, and doesn't quite go away as he remains in the droid's face until he agrees.

"Temper, temper, Mr. Hosh. I will make a proposition just for you. This will be my final offer. I will open up my services to you as if you were in my network. It will be a two-way lane in which you provide me with information and I will, in turn, provide you with any information you may need. I can assure you my resources are considerable."

"In good faith, I will reveal the location of the cargo and, if you agree, I will divulge the nature of the cargo as well."

"On top of that, I can call in the favor of a surgeon I have on retainer to perform the necessary medical treatment beyond first aid before you leave."

"Does that meet with your approval, Mr. Hosh?" queries Switch.

Allerick steps back and smooths out his shirt. "That will do."

Switch responds to Allerick, "The cargo is in the main docking bay of Blue Deck. Quite clever really. It’s the one section that Imperial ships dock and it’s most heavily traveled by Imperial loyalists. It’s hiding right under their noses."

"It was a special cargo, and lately some unsavory types have been nosing around the less well-heeled docking bays disrupting some shipments, no offense intended. When Maya arranged for the delivery she mentioned the package’s importance. I took the liberty of arranging these safer accommodations myself. The Blue Deck docking fee is more expensive, but it ensures the cargo is safe where it is."

"The cargo is actually a security agent from Alderaan. He came all the way from the Deep Core world of Empress Teta. The twist is that he had himself frozen in carbonite so that he could be transported as cargo since he knew the Imperials were searching for him and would arrest him if they found him. You see, he was spying on the Empire's interests in the Deep Core. In the months since the rise of the Empire, hundreds of warships have sealed off the few known trade routes into the Deep Core, only allowing wealthy Imperial loyalists in or out of that region of space. Over the last few months, the Empire has set up the Deep Core Security Zone, and Emperor Palpatine himself has overseen the transfer of large amounts of resources and nobles loyal to the Empire into the Deep Core. The frozen agent had been scouting one of the dozens of worlds that the Empire had discovered during its recent expansion into the Deep Core."

"Carbonite? What sort of nut freezes himself in carbonite? Doesn't that cause all sorts of health issues? How do we thaw him out?"

Back on the mining rock I saw guys accidentally frozen by carbonite and none of them survived. How do we know this informant is still even alive?

"Mr. Hosh, I'm afraid that was not part of our arrangement. You may want to inquire with Maya." offers the droid.

He offers a slim datacard to Allerick. "You will find the codes that will allow you to reach me via secure networks in almost any location you find yourself in. Feel free to contact me at any time."

During Switch's divulgence of information, a doctor arrives with a medical kit. He works to treat the injuries of Allerick and Colvin and performs a minor first aid on Stone. You are all fully healed by the time he completes his work and you conclude your business with Switch.

"Unless you have anything further, I must be off. Do stay in touch." If nobody has anything for the droid, he leaves with the astromech droid and the Twi'lek bodyguard.

Allerick, do you have the means to contact Switch if we need to? Frequencies and codes and such?

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

"Now that we know where the cargo is we need to figure out the best way to get it or him without attracting attention. Its very clever that it is under their noses but its still under their noses. Perhaps we should discuss the approach with Maya first".

"Negotiations can be a bit boring, yes?" Alistair asks 'Eyva' off-handedly while Allerick and Switch are occupied with trying to outmaneuver each other.

As the discussion reaches its end and the doctor is done, the man lets out a sigh of relief as his injury is no more and joins the rest of them.

"I agree with Colvin. Maya did bring us together so we should discuss our course of action with her first. Not only to hear what she has to say on the matter, but also to make sure she has a plan in mind so that she stays safe as well from now on."

Have we also got the case of Corellian ale Switch mentioned?

No - it is stored in the same area as the carbonite agent.

"When done by people like these, oh yes," Kess agrees. Shaking her head, Kess continues, "We might as well get back to Maya. She's most likely to know how to get into Blue Deck untouched. Or at least alive."

"Yeah, I'm good. With this I can contact Switch whenever we want."

Prompt me when you are ready to proceed. Can I assume you are going to see Maya?

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Yes I think that we all agree that would be the best way to enter the Blue Deck docking bay as she knows the station better than we do. So we will make our way to go see her as inconspicuously as possible.

You all make your way back to the secret apartment where you left Maya. She appears to be doing much better and is up and about. She appears to be packing up. As you enter she addresses you. "Did you get what you need from Switch? Do you have the cargo?" she says excitedly.

"Things are getting way too intense on this station. We have to arrange to go immediately!"

"It is good to see you are feeling better," Alistair remarks with a smile, his look betraying slight amusement at Maya's excitement.

"I wonder how easy it will be to leave however. With the two shoot-outs, especially the one with COMPNOR agents, I would expect security to have increased a great deal. And none of us just happens to have a ship. Or do we Maya?"

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

"Maya it seems that the cargo is in a location that will make retrieval somewhat tricky. It or rather he is located in the main docking bay of the Blue Deck. We decided that since you are much more familiar with the station that you could give us guidance on how to acquire it without raising too many eyebrows. Switch mentioned that the fee is somewhat expensive. Don't worry Alistair I think our second shoot-out was under the radar. Sort of like having gunfire in the bowels of Coruscant, the authorities, even under the Republic, just don't care overmuch for what happens to those who dwell in unsavory places".

We are going to go to recover the cargo, but first we to make sure we have an escape plan in place. Do we have a ship lined up to get us out of here, and in a hurry if things don't go smoothly?
