"Allerick though I have been rather helpful to our little group I am certainly not the Jedi. I will shoot you the next time you speak to me that way and I can't confirm whether my blaster will be set on stun or not". Colvin smirks perhaps meaning the statement as a joke, perhaps not.

After Allerick pulls down the data, "Slave trading no big surprise there. I think I will put some pressure on this Major Domo. Thanks for the miracle buddy". Colvin taps his blaster and heads out the door slamming it on the way.

Colvin searches Darga's complex for the Majordomo Igren Demos. Once he locates him, "Afternoon Demos. I think we need to talk about a side deal that you will find quite lucrative".

Persuasion - 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

IG feels a rise in the heat of his prosessing as he meets another dead end. Stoping for a few seconds he apparantly stands there staring at the wall for a few moments. Actually he is prosessing the gathered visual information and compiling a map in his head. Satisfied he has the place maped out, and a route planned, he nods his accent to Stone. "We are ready I believe."

Taking 10 with the force point for a 22.

Allerick waits until the man's back is turned, then makes several ugly faces at him. As soon as he leaves the room, he resumes his explosive preparations, muttering about shaved wookies and the general lack of respect for the exceptionally gifted.

To IG, Stone says Do you think we should warn Raden about what's coming, or should we be ready to stun him if he is too scared to be cooperative? I'm not sure if the Hutt would just let us gag him before the "execution", he'll probably want to give him a change to beg for mercy or some such nerf dung.

IG ponders the question for a bit, prosessing possible outcomes to various actions. "I believe our best bet would be to let him blubber and cry for the hutt. If we're quick to grab him when he comes over the wall and state our intentions he should calm down. I worrie that his performance might become lacking if he feels too secure."

Stone only:
Stone - with your "insight" you know Raden won't react well and it is very likely to jepardize the mission if he is not warned or prepped or drugged or something ahead of time. It is not guaranteed but put yourself in his shoes - some crackpot (Allerick) straps explosives to your head. It blows up. Then you and Iggie pull him aside and try to rationalize with him that you are saving him. Yeah, good luck with that.

I still think we should get word to him. I suspect that the fear that something will go wrong with the explosives will be enough to unnerve him and make him seem genuinely afraid. I mean, if Allerick was strapping those explosives to you, wouldn't you want a back up made of your memory and protocol files? I'm going to check with Alistair and Colvin and see if they think they can get him in on it.

Stone will find Colvin and Alistair and pull them into one of their rooms. He'll quickly explain his concern as well as the plan he and IG put together, and ask if they can help with getting Raden in on it.

"Very well." IG conceeds. "My insight into sentient psyche may be flawed I suppose. After all; My programing does not cover psychology." IG follows Stone around, stayinng with his assigned teammate for this mission.

You find the majordomo. You easily convince him that what you have to say is worth listening to. You may proceed...

Kess goes to find Alistair. Once the conflicted young Jedi finds him, she immediately launches into a rant about the stupidity of a certain mad genius, ending with: "And I'll ram one of those starship engines right up his backside!" After a few seconds of huffing, she blushes slightly and says, "Sorry about that, but I really needed to vent to someone. Thank you for listening, Alistair. Tell me, do you feel anywhere near what I do? Were we not taught to treat people better than this?"

"Tell me, did you think you would get away with it forever? Its no coincidence that my associates and I are here now just before the meeting. You have been watched for some time. We are onto you and your little side deal. I can convince certain parties of your innocence but of course it will cost you". Colvin stares at him icily fingering his blaster.

Tell me, do you feel anywhere near what I do? Were we not taught to treat people better than this?"

"Well," Alistair begins and almost immediately pauses for a moment as if to collect his thoughts, "I will admit that our newfound friends are certainly... colorful, at least some of them. And perhaps you are right about the way to treat people, Tamara. Perhaps we were used to associate ourselves with a different kind of people, which in turn has led us to expect certain traits from others and feel frustrated when we do not find them."

"I have to say that I do not get angry that easily myself, although Allerick in particular has a talent at getting a rise out of people," he continues with a smile. "But, despite any eccentricity he may exhibit, I think he is a good man. I think all of them are, no matter how hard they try to hide it behind a show of arrogance and self-importance or quirkiness or interest in credits and other rewards."

"We are living in strange times, I think, and I suppose it is only fitting that such strange people like us are the ones starting to make a difference."

Kess smiles as Alistair finishes. "You always seem to find the bright side to these things Alistair. I am very glad to have you around. I'm not sure how I would deal with all these people by myself."

Tamara Kess wrote:

"Yes, I am truly gifted in that respect," the Jedi quips with a wink. "So, care to join me in reuniting with the others and see about getting Allerick's undoubtedly insane plan under way? It has been a while since we were last getting shot at and I am starting to worry we are losing our touch."

Kess laughs, genuinely amused. "Yes, we must watch for that. Wouldn't want people to get the wrong impression about us."

"M'lady?" Alistair's tone is a bit teasing as he offers his arm in a somewhat exaggerated imitation of a gentleman offering to accompany his better half. "Let us not keep our friends waiting."

The Jedi leads his female counterpart along, fully intending to meet up with the rest of the group and move along with their plan. Once Stone asks for his help with the task of convincing Raden, however, the man shakes his head.

"I do not think I am the better choice for this. I am not the talker Colvin is and even though I have some skill in using the Force to influence minds, it is not a guaranteed success. Besides, in this case I would not want to actually control a man's decision in that way, considering his life will be in danger, no matter how small."

He pauses for a moment. "No, he has to make that choice on his own, although talking to him first is certainly the way to go. I think our friend Mr. Dashwind is the obvious choice in this particular case."

"Very well, sir, let us be off!" Kess says grandly, placing her arm in his.

Stone will take the opportunity of a little down time leading up to The Event to explore the fortress we are in. He'll try to poke around, looking for places that may be considered off limits. Before he goes, he'll let some of the others (at least Colvin and Alistair) know what part of the fortress he's off to and how long he expects to be gone.

Stone - you wander the palace and encounter regular patrols of guards on this upper level. You easily find servant's quarters and barracks for the guards as well as the typical rooms such as a kitchen and such.

You do find there is an extensive lower level that can only be accessed via a key card. The key cards are given to those who Darga trusts.

The majordomo looks at you with cold indifference. With his nasally voice and odd accent, he answers you. "Surely you are mistaken. I have many enemies, including those trying to usurp my enviable position with Darga. Perhaps it is even you and your cohorts trying to discredit me. Let's bring this before Darga and see which one of us he believes."

You know he is not bluffing here. Guilty or not, he knows you have little favor curried with the Hutt. In addition, you know it would be very difficult with just the one file to discredit him. At least that is what he believes.

The day is winding to a close. You are provided with semi-private quarters. You are paired off into rooms that share a common lavatory and meeting room but have private bed chambers.

Servants come to you and provide you with food and drink per your requests.

The execution of Raden is scheduled now for mid-day tomorrow. You've got everything in order except to bring Raden into the loop.

I will progress the story when I get bumps from everyone concluding their current storyline.

When everyone is back together, Stone will share what he found.

I've been doing a little snooping around and found entrance to a lower level that seems to be pretty extensive. I couldn't get it; it takes a key card. When I mentioned it in passing to one of the guards, he said the cards are only given to a few people that are in Darga's inner circle.

Once we get past this Raden show, we might want to see if we can in down there and take a look around. We may not need Darga to confide in us if we can see what's going on with or own eyes. Or receptors. he adds, with a glance to IG.

Do you Jedi have any tricks that could get us past a key card door like that? If not, I'm sure Allerick would love the challenge...

Kalderaan:
Colvin now has the unencrypted evidence of the transmissions correct? Let me know then I will determine what action to take next.

Colvin:
You do have the unencrypted file. Understand that it is not the same as catching him red-handed. To do that, you would require physical evidence, which you do not have. He simply said, bring it up with Darga. He would deny it. Darga would then side with him, most likely. The more you push, the more he would set you up to fail. If you do bring it up and Darga doesn't believe you (believes Demos that the files were doctored), you lose what little credibility and goodwill you have with the Hutt. Are you ready to do that?

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Colvin chuckles at the majordomo, "Very well then. Perhaps I will approach Darga, or perhaps I will just keep this to myself. Of course if one of your enemies approaches me I will see what they will offer me as it appears you have little to give. I am sure you understand we all have to make a living and I am going to get paid one way or another".

Colvin smiles and winks at the majordomo and heads back to his room considering what move to make next.

Colvin leaves the majordomo, knowing that he knew the truth. Using that to his advantage would take some time. Having been a scoundrel in his day, Colvin also knew that he had better watch his back. Having confronted the alien and left him knowing that he was watching him was a gutsy and dangerous move.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Colvin makes his way to the holonet (one as private as he can find) and contacts Switch in oreder to fulfill his commitment.

Switch:
Colvin relays all the details of the file that Allerick unencrypted. "Any way you can gain more data on what or who this "prisoner" is? Also please have your contact reach out to me via Holonet I have a few questions for him, it has just become too dangerous for face to face interactions here. I trust that this information is sufficient for me to have met our most recent bargain?"

Colvin then sits back and checks both his open and hidden blaster to make sure they are fully charged. He will not be caught unprepared when the majordomo makes his inevitable move.

Realizing that he has not spoken with his companions in a few hours now he heads out to look for them.

Colvin:
Switch is pleased with your progress and agrees the terms of your agreement have been fulfilled. His contact, Six-Six, is a droid working in the Hutt's palace. You want Six-Six to reach out to you?

Please tell me who is staying with whom. You have to pair off in your rooms. Also, let me know what, if anything, you do before or during your hours of sleep.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Kalderaan:
Yes Six-Six.

Colvin is looking for Alistair as he is the one who was with Colvin when the deal with Six Six was made.

Colvin:
A protocol droid is usually dismissed as an appliance. They can go pretty much anywhere without raising too much suspicion. Six-Six sends you a coded message that he will meet with you at a time and place of your choosing.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Kalderaan:
I the evening then when the palace begins to slow down Six Six should come by.

IG will wander around the palace for the day and then retire to share rooms with Allerik. Moving into an unocupied corner of the main room and power down to recharge. Having no need to sit or lie down he will remain standing with his gear straped on and his rifle in hand.

If Colvin doesn't mind, Stone will bunk there. If Colvin needs privacy, Stone will see if Alistair wants to keep watches in a room.

Kess would prefer to share space with Alistair, but really has no problems sharing a room with anyone except Allerick.

So I have Kess & Alistair; Allerick & IG-MDz; Stone & Colvin. I will be moving to end of day first then overnight.

Colvin:
Six-Six arrives as requested. Let me know what you seek and I will interact accordingly.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Stone - "I do not mind at all. You take first watch I will take second watch".

Alistair - Colvin explains the situation with the majordodmo. "He knows that we know. This will get dangerous. Keep an eye on him and just so you know up front if I have to I am taking him down.

Six Six:
{b] "The majordomo is dirty. Of course here everyone is dirty but he is dirty and uncooperative, a bad mix as far as I am concerned. Can you tell me who here has an issue with him? I want a list of all his enemies at court and their general disposition towards me if I approach them".

Stone and Alistair - "The transmission Allerick unencrypted mentions a slave trade that Darga runs, no big surrise there, as well as a "prisoner". I am not sure if this is a prisoner here on premises or a prisoner the Imperials will bring here. I tried to bluff the majordomo to find out but he is pretty savvy and didn't go for it. Anyway I want to find out about this prisoner if I can. Moreover, I have a bed feeling about this meeting with the Imperials Darga "wants us to attend", we need to keep our guard up".

Then maybe that's what's going on with that lower level I came across. I couldn't get in because of the key card needed (not without a lot of explosions and blaster fire anyway), but it looked like a pretty extensive and could easily have a prisoner, and maybe even a slaving operation.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Stone - "I would rather try to hotwire that door myself than ask Allerick to do it. He is busy with his toys anyway. Do you think we should try to pay a visit to that spot tonight? Only problem is that the majordomo is going to be keeping an eye on me I bet."

Colvin - I'd be willing to show you what I found, but I'm not sure if just the two of us should go. Maybe if we get another one or two of our group to go with? If this is Darga's special operations, the security could be formidable.

As you discuss things, you both realized that you have picked up on subtle clues that you are being watched with scrutiny. You realize that it may take a bit more time and finesse to gain the good graces of the Hutt.

Further conversations with Darga's court inform you that the Hutt does give out key cards to those whom he trusts. If you can only work to serve him dutifully, you may be able to skip the subterfuge and skullduggery required to bypass his security system.

You know the Imperial visit isn't scheduled for a few more days so you are here for the duration. No sense in wearing out your welcome in the first night at the palace, eh?

Stone/Colvin:
Let me know how you set up your watches. You have a common room with four doors - one to the lavatory, one to the hallway where you enter, and one for each of the two bedrooms. Let me know who is where and when. Not for any reason in particular, mind you. ;D

I would say take turns sleeping. The one awake staying in the common room, but leave the doors open except the one going to the hallway?

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

"Good point. Though too many of us will attract attention. We should discuss this as a group at some point. As far as setting a watch goes, I absolutely agree. Come to think of it, I have a visitor coming so you go to sleep first. I will wake you when I am getting tired",

Sounds good to me.

True to form for emergency workers and soldiers, Eamch is asleep within a minute of hitting the bed. He'll leave the door open so he can react quickly if Colvin needs him.

Colvin:
Six-Six arrives and gives you a few names. The most prominent one you realize after clarifying with Six-Six was the leader of the swoop gang you destroyed upon your arrival. Others have grudges but nothing more than a worker for a boss. There is a moneychanger who holds a grudge but you haven't encountered him yet.

Kess & Alistair:
During the night, you both wake after getting a desperate cry for help. You don't recall it it was mental or you actually heard it. It was simply a woman's voice, "Help me."

In his den of explosives, Allerick waits. Surrounded by pyrotechnics, he lurks, pondering the outcomes of the explosive finale he has planned.

Not really doing anything, but I wanted to make sure you knew I was around...

For Kalderaan and Tamara Kess:
Alistair opens his eyes and scans the room, the woman's voice still fresh in his mind. He immediately goes to Kess' bed chamber, knocking on the door and waiting for an answer before entering.

"Tamara? Are you awake? Did you hear something, a... voice?" At the same time, the Jedi concentrates, allowing the Force to act as his eyes and ears in an attempt to sense if anything is amiss.

DM Only:

Alistair:
Other than Kess, you sense nobody in the immediate vicinity. You can detect two force users (NOT counting Kess). One is known to you (Again, NOT counting Kess). The other is not.

Male Human, Scoundrel 2/Soldier 1, HP 41/41 (Thresh 21), Init. +9, Per +8, Force Points 3

Six Six:
"Six six can you arrange a meeting with this Moneychanger?"

After the meeting with Six Six, and a few hours on watch. Colvin will exchange places with Stone

When Stone is awake, he'll reflect on the thug who is going to be wearing his armor if all goes well with Allerick's plan. He wants to make sure it will be quick and easy to fit him into Stone's armor, making any adjustments he needs to, or setting aside cloth that can be stuffed in parts of it if he is a smaller man at all compared to Stone. Other than that, he waits patiently for the next day and the excitment it is sure to bring.

For Kalderaan and Tamara Kess:
There is a look of surprise on his face as Alistair breaks out of his connection with the Force.

"There are other Force users here, two of them," he says to the young woman. "Not only that, but one of them feels familiar, as if he or she is known to me. The other, however, is not."
