Walk, if you will, the claustrophobic alleys of the Tangle, the middenstone vats of the Filth, and the cobbled white roads at the summit of an ancient hill. Know that this is but the latest of cities to crown this summit, a monument to the grime and waste of civilization.
The city was built upon the battlefields of history past, for many have sought to control this key
feature, this lonely hill in a sea of mud and mire. Only its name has remained constant through the ages—Carrion Hill.
-To give a chance to folks who have trouble joining PBPs, only applications from those currently not in a game as a player here on Paizo will be accepted. (If you're a DM, but not a player, you can apply.)
-I'm looking for 4 PCs, one of each basic class type (warrior, arcane caster, divine caster, rogue – I consider bards rogues.)
-No multiclass characters.
-Advanced Player's Guide test classes are welcome.
-The first to submit a mostly complete character sheet of a basic class type will be accepted (the first paladin, the first sorcerer, etc.)
-Let's leave equipment selection for later, after you've been accepted.
-A character is considered to have been submitted when an applicant posts in this thread in his PC's alias, with a character sheet in the profile.
-Only one submission from each applicant, please.
-If your submission doesn't come in first, you'll be considered an alternate for that basic class slot.
-The sheet can be of any ad hoc format.
-Level 5.
-20-point-buy for ability scores.
-Standard races.
-No character background necessary (but it is appreciated.)
-Our main objective here is to actually finish an adventure, whether it be a successful conclusion or a bloody TPK. The expected posting rate is at least twice per day.
-Absences are fine if warned ahead of time (no explanation necessary.)
-I'm not a very masterful DM, so I'll ask forgiveness in advance for poor rulings and shaky storytelling. I'll try to hew as close to the published module as possible.

Oh jeez, I've been looking to join a PBP, but I've never been in one, so hopefully you're okay with breaking someone in . . . ! For the character sheet, should I just put a stat block in my character alias' "About" section or do you need like, a JPEG of the PFRPG character sheet?
First timers are more than welcome. Just a stat block is what I need.

Hmmm, looks like I may be slightly to late. If you are looking to fill any gaps at all or think a 5th party member would work out than I would like to give this adventure a go. I already have created a paladin, ranger, rogue, wizard, or cleric that could be leveled up fairly easily for this. I have a decent amount of experience with pbp and post very frequently. I love the heavy Lovecraftian feel that Carrion Hill exudes :)

Aww, crap.
So it turns out that my tabletop DM is gonna be running my gaming group through Carrion Hill, and he respectfully asked that I look for another PBP to play in so as not to ruin the experience for myself and the others in my tabletop party. Though it pains me to say it, I've gotta sit this one out, but on the bright side, at least we hadn't started yet...!
The divine caster slot is now officially free.

Post as one of your characters here and that will be our alternate.

I did right away. Just posted him as quickly as I could so I wouldn't miss the opportunity. Thanks though :) He was also beta but should be all good now. Let me know if you see any discrepancies please.
OK, Mijanor is our new divine caster!
Looks like we have a quartet. Thanks for the submissions, all.
Equipment budget for each character is average wealth times 5.
You may buy magic items.

Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to it.
So, starting is five times the starting average? So for my rogue, it would be 700gp?

I think Jawn may have the same question I do. If we start with that amount we will not be having any permanent magic items for the most part (not sure if this is what you intended). Our wizard will start with a mere 350 gp. If you wanted to have the characters be equipped as average PCs for their level may I suggest using the table on page 399 of the core rulebook (character wealth by level). However, a gp limit on what can be spent on any single item is usually used too. Something like 4000gp is good. Allows people to buy a +1 weapon if they choose or a +2 attribute item at the most. Anyway, just putting that out there and am good with whatever you decide of course.

I did the old Slavelord modules way back when, and I'm not familiar with this adventure, so I was willing to go along... :) I would relate to your plight as a wizard with a rock and a loincloth. At least as a rogue I could get a cold iron rock and a silver rock.
I'll get to work on the equipment portion. Thanks JZ!

First Level = 8
Second Level = 1d8
Third Level = 1d8
Fourth Level = 1d8
Fifth Level = 1d8Total = 8+6+3+8+5=30
Just wondering - how can you tell what the rolled result is before you post? Or do you just go back and edit your post to add together or say what you do due to the result or whatever after seeing the result?
...Did that make sense?

It did make sense. I did a Preview of the post, and it showed the dice results. The results did not change when I hit Submit Post. It also helped because I forgot a bracket on one of them and it let me add it and gave me the dice roll.

Aha, the preview! I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the quick answer. :)

Somehow, I missed this in your original post. As I am currently in other PBP's (I love em) I would step aside to give someone new a chance. I would feel guilty if I took the opportunity from someone new and didn't want to misrepresent myself. I think I just got over-excited because it's Carrion Hill. If there isn't anyone to pick up the reigns than I still am very interested.
