If it is a well-made costume, people will be impressed, and no one will care that you are the only one dressed-up.
If it is a bad costume, like the ones you usually encounter at anime cosplay events, well...douche might be the difining term. ;)

Yes, I'm going as Amiri! Of course :o). I love that art! And I like barbarians a lot. So this will definitely be cool. I intend to start on the costume THIS week sometime...going to start buying some materials and keep it as low budget as I can. Most of the materials are super cheap it's just the time that costs the most. :o) I want to get the costume done prior to PaizoCon for sure.

Well I'm considering throwing together a Cayden Cailean cleric costume, but I want to make sure I don't show up as the lone douche in a costume.
I can't sew so my costumeness is reliant on motvating my wife to costume craft. I'm not doing anything really crazy looking but should be decent.

Can't sew either, I'm just planing on getting a custom scarf made and then hitting up renfair supply places for the rest of the outfit. Maybe snag a chain shirt from Think Geek.

I like the full-length, sleeved, riveted one (of course the most expensive).
Ahh, for a disposable income!

Anybody who dresses up in a reasonably elaborate costume will get weekend-long high-fives from me, and will be called on first in any seminar I'm involved in.
Pathfinder cosplay rules.
I've been considering dressing up as you, James. Would that fit within the high-fivable category, or is it crossing a line?

Just make sure Sean will wear his ultra-cool 'Sunglasses of Intimidation'! ;)
Oh, and you haven't reported to the Asmodean Inquisition in some weeks now -- as you well know, all Erinyes secretaries are required to do so regularly, and we're very interested in hearing about Paizo's plans for the future! Also, you should try to brainwash Sean into writing more products for Cheliax (if he should make his Will save -- unlikely, but it's still a remote possibility -- remind him of his contract). ;P

my boyfriend is trying to get me to go as Shelyn. ... I'm a little nervous about that dress, though. ... though a tiara would be cool.
I'm pretty sure that as long as it keeps the basic tunic-design you'd be able to adjust the slit in the skirt and the neckline to your own comfort-zone and remain recognisable (especially if you lug around a big-a** falchion as part of the costume;) ).

When is everyone planning on wearing their costumes? I was thinking on Saturday since (I'm assuming) I'll be working and running around on Friday. I think it would be fun to coordinate the timing (and because I am incredibly paranoid about being the only one wearing a costume).
I am designing a costume for wear, possibly all three days. I have never been to a gaming con before. What is the policy on weapons? Swords and daggers and such? What I am designing could include a bladed dagger or if there are rules against such things I could have the blade removed and attach just the hilt to the scabbard. This would be an insane amount of work (detaching a blade from a dagger/shortsword) so I need a ruling on this if anyone has any thoughts?

If there is a Grand Convocation again on Friday, that might be a better time to be in costume. Don't know the schedule yet though.
