Did D&D cause this too?

Yes. The pilot of the piper and the pilot of the United flight from Denver to San Francisco were both originally from the same D&D group. They are reported to have both played deathknights who flew black dragon mounts in that group.

Let's hope any D&D books burned so poor journalists have to make the connection up completely without evidence. Won't stop them of course, but hey.

TOZ: is something missing from your post?

I thank everyone for their concern.

Next thing you know, they'll be saying a mauled that old french dude because of D&D.

No way! I had a lot of good reasons to tear that old bastard up. He tried to have me "fixed". He wouldn't let me have table scraps. He was always yelling at me when I peed on the floor or leave him a landmine.

And, well......he was french.

Seriously, that should have been reason enough.

The mention of the pilot burning his house before stealing the plane. I posted directly after reading the link and didn't think about people who don't click links on forums. My apologies.

Ah, now it's funny! Thanks.

"Sources unaquainted with the pilot claim that he was an obsessive fan of 'Dungeons and Dragons.' Investigators have discovered that in 1981 he briefly owned a Dungeons and Dragons 'Players Handbook,' which lists 'experience point' costs to 'go up a level.' It is now suspected that he crashed the plane intentionally in order to score in-game 'experience points' for killing the passengers."

"Reports are now coming in from former babysitters of the pilot. As a child he was known to crash toy planes into building blocks repeatedly. Psychologists are being consulted as to the possibility of this being a premeditated act."

Aaron, was your last post mentioned actually a comment on the article?

No, it was only a comment on Twin Agate Dragon's and Aberzombie's joke. I guess it was starting getting off-topic. You can call the threadjack police on me.

Nah, it just would have made me happy if it had been.

Do you think it would make a difference if I turned myself in? ... To the threadjack police, I mean?

Runs into thread panting heavily with a mostly eaten doughnut in hand.

Sorry I'm late! Did someone call me?

* walks very, very quietly out of the thread -- like a bull in a china shop *

Methinks the author of the linked article is bucking for a job at Fox News.
