the arteries that supply the heart muscle with blood get occluded, which can lead to "ischemia" which is chest pain due to the heart muscle not getting oxygen. An "infarction" is a heart attack; this is one of the ways that one can get a heart attack. So they put stents in these arteries, to open them up sometimes.
