Morning, all. What did I miss?
Well, Kirk, Gary, Scott, and the rest of the gang were caught unawares by a sudden temporal flux, which brought about a not-to-pretty end to the hot dog eating contest. Meanwhile, the other Gary kept insisting that everything was fine, and that the internet was in no danger whatsoever from the dreaded FAWTL virus. Across town, however, plans were being set in motion by the villainous Dr. Mona that would......No, wait! That's my sopa opera.

I'm going to print this and hold you to it. My comic guy called yesterday and he might have found one. He's still haggling.

~sighs~ So tired. On the plus side, the AC guy was able to fix the issue and I have AC again. ~contented sigh~ Thank God that my friends referred him to me. This is either the third or fourth time he has saved my hide with my Heating / Cooling system.
I'd hate to be in Georgia with no A/C. I'm glad you got it fixed.

Hopefully, my son won't be one of them. I give him grief when he uses "gay" or "retarded", which seem to be the words of choice for his age group.

This makes me really sad. :(
I never thought I'd miss the Lutherans this much.
You know who else tried to kill off a whole religious group?
Actually, I don't know. I was hoping someone could tell me.

Gooooooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!!
Passed out last night due to the astonishing heat at around 7 or so and did not wake up until 2 in the morning. I wasn't able to get back to sleep until around 4 and I am now up and groggy. Took the bike to work and I'm annoyed to find that half the building isn't recieving power. Oh well, at least the part of the building that supplies AC is! I'm hoping the charge for the hotel room for part of my SC vacation goes through, I just discovered the card expires at the end of the month!!! If it doesn't, I'll use another, but I'd rather use this card than another as I want to keep my money on an even keel so I can enjoy both the con and the trip afterwards.
I'm slowly making progress through the GMG, and it's astonishing me at every turn. I can't believe the PDF was only ten bucks!!! It really is a great read. And the plot twist cards no longer have an expected date on them, so I'm thinking they will be in stores soon!! Viva Paizo!!!!!
That's it for me. I've got to get this paperwork squared away before the end of the day and start meeting with people because I'm missing a few days at the end of the month and I want to be ahead of schedule. However, before I go, I discovered during last night's pseudo insomnia that I am not alone in the world- THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE WHO HATE JOSS WHEDON! And they put their reasons for doing so in this list. Well, the guy who writes it doesn't hate him as much as I do(that's someone else who I will try to find a link for later on today), but this list is some good readin'. And apologies to anyone who has read it already.

I am sad that civilization has left you. Every year, some asshats try to sell WRR, just like they sold our zoo. If they ever succeed though, unlike the zoo, we'll at least lose high frequency, if not the entire station.

I enjoyed Firefly, but that was more to the cast's credit than his. He's got a way with some clever dialogue, but the rest of his stuff is meh.
meh... Buffy was OK. Angel was where all the good humour went.
Firefly was awesome... Brown Coats Forever!
Dollhouse was quite interesting too.
It's sad that his later shows didn't really get the chance to come into their own. They were just done introducing everything and never really got to expand on their storylines. :(

Actually, the article covers the reasons why I hate him pretty well, in a very, very funny format. My favorite is that he underscored the hilarious idea that whenever something goes squiffy, Joss Whedon is never, ever wrong, TWICE, and then he mentioned how rabid and insane his fans are for him to the point that they will threaten those who dislike his pedestrian work with violence(which has happened to me on several occasions). Then there is my personal gripe that most of his stuff seems to revolve around the anime he has watched lately, which sends most of his fans into even more of a violent tizzy- although interestingly enough, this did not happen with Astonishing X-Men.
There's another article that goes into more reasons why, but it's less funny and more inflammatory. I'm not sure if I should post it here, even with the good points the author of the article makes.

I resisted correcting, but now that Taig has led me down the primrose path...

I agree with you about the humor in Angel.
I think everything came together in Firefly--setting, plot, cast, dialogue. Kaylee. *drool*
Dollhouse relied too much on Eliza Dushku to carry the acting load. She was not equipped to do that.

Astonishing X-Men was his Claremont homage.

+1 definitely

It's true unfortunately.
Alan Tudyk played too small a role and it wasn't until the end that they really allowed Fran Kranz to shine, but in Epilogue Two, shine he did. They also needed to concentrate on the other Dolls more. Every story didn't have to be all about Echo.

Don't get me wrong, I still hate Astonishing- it was eternally late, read like fanfiction in that it created a universe within a universe(a bad trend, imo) and although it
