Back to pulling staples out of the floorboard.

It's in their nature, look at what they do when they finally get us locked in. They start redesigning us.
*needs redesigned, must find women*

Just don't sacrifice your core self ... and don't give off the desperation odor. :p

I'm off. Game time. Woooooooooooooormsssssss!

That was weird. A new thread appeared and I viewed it but there were no posts. Thinking that somehow a ghost post had appeared in a thread whose only post was the op, I posted a "gp". My post was the only one. So, I deleted the post. When I deleted my post, the only one, an OP showed up that should have been there from the beginning. But, if you look at the OT page, it states that I am the author of the thread now. WTF?

It happens sometimes, if the OP is editing it and someone posts before he is done.

Scarab Sages

I think that's how the Untitled thread originally got started.

Woody, that could be on your card.

"Looking for the right woman to redesign me." And at home add, "Apply within."

And listen to Urizen. Desperation is a stank in the nostrils of the womenfolk.

After a little nap to recover from the workday, made a pot of coffee. Wife brought home fresh pehcawns, most of which are grown in the GSoT.

I read the original (or actually listened to it) and found it quite interesting. I thought the whole "Abortion legalization = less crime 15 years later" a real eye opener..

I will have to check this out sooner or later.

My wife really enjoyed Freakonomics.

Amazon link for the book so I don't get it mixed with something similar?

How about the books' site? Also, I think this may have all grown out of a NYTimes blog that may still be around.

Maybe they'll be sitting at a shelf at HPB just waiting for me to acquire it. All the reason I need to go.

I'll venture that you'll at least find the first one, if not the new one, there.

Headed home.

We're off to sunny Buffalo tonight, as my partner is retaking that state exam he didn't pass last time around. He passed another big exam he needed earlier this week, though, so that's a good thing. This one, though, he won't get results on for a month. :(

Good luck to your partner! And I hope you find some time to enjoy Buffalo.

Good night, folks.

And please forgive me if I run off the rails. I can only take so much intellectual torment before I get a little nasty. Mea culpa.

Er?

Take a peek at the tent wall before you zip up your sleeping bag, Badger.

Scarab Sages

Man, for a second I thought it read "take a pee on the tent".

I really don't like it when people pee on the tent.

Scarab Sages

Man, I haven't been camping in years. I'd love to go again, but the wife's allergies prevent it.

Same here. My wife's never been camping, so it'd be a BIG adventure.

Scarab Sages

All right folks. Almost midnight, and time for this zombie to get his beauty rest. I need it. Take care.

enjoying Irish meade tonight good stuff

New compy for Studpuffin post. Gotta get it set up so he can live again!

Liberty's Edge Contributor, RPG Superstar 2012

Huzzah!

I'm off to bed. Tomorrow we're shopping for furnishings for the apartment. Of course, I found out today they're ramping up our department, including hiring people on as employees of the company. I've only been there for a week, but I'll see if I can apply for one of those jobs.

Go, Taig!

I gotta crash too. Working early.

Sure... a carrot on a stick and a hot poker up the arse and I'm sure he can be taught... >:)

Tomorrow I'll be on a good hike with my brother. Hopefully it won't rain too much.

Studpuffin is giddy about his new compy. Not online yet but it LIVES!

Liberty's Edge

It is done. My partner and myself are now homeowners.

EDIT: hmmm... maybe you'll have to give a bogus date to misdirect Urizen from crashing... ;)

I was born in battle's fire

Laid beside my mother's corpse
My toys the ravens of the field
My lullabies the screams of horse

But when that storm god you all praise
Walks the earth and shatters trees
You huddle close beside my gift
And whisper prayers beside the spit
And as the woodsmoke turns and twists
You owe your lives to sly Loki.

Odin saw me on the field
And recognized his bastard son
There he claimed me for his own
Heir to all that he had won

But when that storm god you all praise
Walks the earth and shatters trees
You huddle close beside my gift
And whisper prayers beside the spit
And as the woodsmoke turns and twists
You owe your lives to sly Loki.

I am the slyest of the gods
Fire is the gift I gave
I am swifter than the wind
And none can match the tricks I've played

But when that storm god you all praise
Walks the earth and shatters trees
You huddle close beside my gift
And whisper prayers beside the spit
And as the woodsmoke turns and twists
You owe your lives to sly Loki.

What is the honor they give me?
Denied a seat in Odin's hall
Forbidden fruits from Idun's tree
And cast outside of Asgard's walls

But when that storm god you all praise
Walks the earth and shatters trees
You huddle close beside my gift
And whisper prayers beside the spit
And as the woodsmoke turns and twists
You owe your lives to sly Loki.

So sit beside the fires gleam
And count the wrongs that I have borne
I wait for Ragnarok and dream
Hark! Is that the battles horn?

Yeah, it makes sense when you think about it rationally. Morality of the issue aside, if someone is looking to get an abortion, they obviously don't want the child. Many of them are in greivous economic situations as well. A signifigant percentage of those unwanted children end up becoming 'teen criminals' due to abusive/neglectful upbringing and poor economic circumstances. By eliminating unwanted children at the beginning, there are less teens boosting car stereos when they hit their 'beginning criminal age' at fifteen. And indeed, crime rates plummeted in 1989, just when the data model predicted.
