I assume the situation will be rectified at some future date. I mean, one of these days I'm sure to have money for a road trip. (Not this year, alas. Geez, summer enrollment is sucking.)
Or vice versa. Never been to Texas. And I've told the lil lady that there's a county there I need to check out just so that I can have my picture taken next to its sign. :D

Damnit, woman! That TOTP should've been mine! *shakes fist*
Exams about over? You and LPM's presence has sorely been missed. Almost wondered if you guys were experiencing a slow burn-out?
I am done now! Just finished, we celebrated by hitting the movies and seeing IM2! It was awesome! We will be around more!

Most excellent. And besides, some of us need to finish character creation for the F2F!!!
I should be ordering my ticket either tomorrow or Friday. :D

I have decided though, I am too busy to play in the PbP. My school workload had exploded and there is simply too much to do for me to have something that I must do or everyone else suffers. So I will be helping with NPC's and such.
....which is why I said the F2F. It's a one-shot, so surely you'll be playing that. Riiiiiigggghhht?

Urizen |

Lots to do today. I have to clean up the house and start getting ready for you guys, make a trash run, go to the grocery store, and pick up Riley's new bed.
Heh. I have to do similar with Woody crashing on the way out. I tell her ... it's just WR. "But I don't know him and I have a reputation to uphold!" So another couple of things to the honey-do list.

Gooooooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!
Good news! The Boss isn't in today! What a pleasant surprise! And here I was picking up a Vanilla Chai from Dunkin' Donuts and a bunch of munchkins(the only kind of munchkin I like) to make having to go to one of the weekly meetings with him more bearable. Now I can enjoy them with my coworkers without him breathing down my neck!!!
It's been pretty peaceful lately. The wife's been a little green in the gills, but she's going to the GI doc today to find out why, and I do much better when I have even the most abstract of theories as opposed to ether with respect to why people aren't doing well healthwise.
I'm getting my ducks in a row for visiting SC- I plan to be down there around Father's Day(T'would make the old man's day) and maybe spend a week down there, or at least a few days...whichever works out better for him and my schedule. I'm also trying to figure out whether or not I'll be running a Darklight Sisterhood game this weekend or not, as there is a Panamanians of African Descent thing going on on the other side of town that mom expects me to drop everything for because it's held once a year, and she told me exactly 1 week after I solidified this Sunday for DS. If everyone can move their timetables up a week or two, I'll go, if not, then mom's going to have to understand.
Alleynbard, I'm having trouble scheduling my Ptolus game!!! The second job and my two-timing DM(he has a Cthulhu game alongside this one) are having an argument with respect to schedules. Hopefully it all gets settled, if not, tell Monte Cook to avenge me!!!
Well, that's it. Here's hoping your day is as pleasantly surprising as mine is shaping up to be!

October 22, 2015. This year is our 20th, so we're going to try to do something special, but not really expensive.

Mom wants to take me on a cruise to Alaska for my 35th birthday; that's next year. She told me to think about it. I'm honestly not sure if I want to go. What the hell is in Alaska?
If you have an opportunity to go to Alaska -- GO!
Seriously, mostly scenery, but as I understand it, it is absolutely beautiful there.

Urizen |

Okay, remind me again - which FAWTLY that's going to MB is looking for any particular 3.x hardcovers (or anything in particular)?
The books I could pick up would be, at the most, half off the cover price plus sales tax. If there is a particular book that I can obtain between today and next Tuesday that would get onto your "YES PICK IT UP I WILL PAY YOU BACK", speak up.
I know LPM wants Deities & Demigods, but I haven't run across that yet. I'm going to try to squeeze in a covert HPB run while down in Cincy this weekend two while the lil lady is getting her hair done and attending her sister-in-law's baby sprinkle.

"Scenery?" *sputters* Scenery?? You call those stretches of gorgeous wilderness ecosystem scenery, as if it's there for decoration? Ach! *pant pant pant*
Alaska cruise:
Bad: They lose your luggage on the way to Vancouver and leave without it. You'll get it at the first port, but in the meantime all you have is $50 to spend at the very expensive gift shop and all you can afford is one t-shirt and underwear.
Good: The drive from Seattle through Vancouver is gorgeous. They are awesome cities.
Bad: You don't get to stop and visit either city.
Bad: The trip up the west coast of Canada is long and there are no opportunities for shore leave. You are stuck with your fellow passengers, who are geriatric. Somebody drops their tray every day in the food line. Everyone chews with their mouths open, with food dropping out the entire time. The people seated with you at the dinner table complain constantly about their digestive problems. Everyone else on the entire ship is talking about all the wildlife they've seen, but, no matter that you've spent the entire day on deck in the rain and wind, you have not seen any of the things they are discussing. Wtf?
Good: Port visits are awesome. Alaskans are quirky and fun people. Juneau has its own biker gang which is stuck in the city as there are no roads connecting it to anywhere. They drive around and around the city. Love it.
Bad: Everyone says that the glaciers have melted hugely since the last time they were there.
Bad: It's so foggy, you don't get to see Glacier Bay. It is too dangerous to take the ship in with all the icebergs. Nothing they can do and there's no compensation for it.
Bad: You have to pay extra for all the port activities.
Good: If you pay extra, you can helicopter to a glacier or sea kayak or hike the rain forest in Juneau (yes, rain forest), etc. It's awesome! Seals play under and around your kayak.
Good: There are buskers at some ports!
Good: The days are incredibly long and you find you are not tired as long as the sun is up.
Bad: Old folks are less courteous than any teenager. They cut in lines, bump you, talk during movies, and are entirely unapolgetic.
Good: You have opportunities for extra trips, like to Alaskan Inuit villages and train trips through the mountains.
Good: Everything is gorgeous.
Bad: An Inuit tells you not to worry, the polar bears are far away from where you are hiking. "Almost one mile." Eep.
Good: You might be at the Inuit village for 'breakup,' when the ice sheet on the sea breaks up and they can get out in boats for the first time. Big spontaneous celebration.
Good: You stand on deck with your fellow passengers as you sail into the final port. They are pointing out all the wildlife they can see. "There's a dolphin." "Look, an otter!" No matter how hard you look, all you see is a duck bobbing in and out of the surf feeding, and some log with a little branch sticking up that looks like a leg, and.... ooooooh. The wildlife these folks have been seeing that you haven't? It's because their eyes are really bad.
Good: As you are eating dinner, your mom (who is facing the window) suddenly gets huge eyes and tries to yell something with her mouth full. As you turn and look, you see a whale tail disappear under the water. The look on Mom's face? Priceless.
Good: You see a red ice floe. As it draws nearer, you can see it's red because a bald eagle is devouring its prey on the surface. Awesome.
Good: The trees around the salmon canning plant are so full of bald eagles that it looks like a flock of white-headed grackles.
Good: In Ketichikan, folks tell you of a local who dumped his small plane into the side of that mountain 'right there' during a blizzard. They heard his radioed calls for help. "Did anybody get to him?" "What? No way we could get there. But the spring avalanches'll bring him down pretty soon, so's we can bury him."
I want to go back and never return.

Make sure the DM knows he can play up the Galchutt and get his Cthulhu fix at the same time.
If that doesn't work, I will summon Monte. I can't guarantee he will come, but I can try. Likely he will send a servant or force me to go kick some butt.

Oh yes. Sadly underrated. It's one of the best sci-fi horror films ever. I think it's right up there near Alien.

Oooooh, that was today (or yesterday now), wasn't it? Spent a bit of my afternoon running errands and spending some time with my father.
Hope it went well!
It went...okay. Shoving a 5 hour scenario into a 3 hour time slot is trying. Not to mention I am having some store issues that I would rather not discuss here, but are influencing my desire to run PFS there. I think I need a break.
The scenario, The Darkest Vengeance , was a ton of fun and extremely well designed. The last encounter was particularly fun.

And I am not going back over the 692 posts since I last checked in. Sheesh! Try to take a small break from the boards...
