Can grapplers be bull rushed?

Rules Questions

This came up last night in our game. A character was grappling with an npc when npc#2 attempted to bull rush the character. Is there anything in the rules for this? Would npc#2 push both characters or just the one? Any help is appreciated.

There's nothing in the rules, but I'd say the bull rush forces an new grapple check, since the conditions of the grapple just changed. :)

I'd up the size category of the bull rush target by one to account for both characters in the grapple. If the new grapple check fails, then I'd say it's broken and the bull rush moves only the intended target. This simulates breaking the two apart nicely. If the grapple holds, then the bull rush moves both targets. Let's hope there's no cliff behind them. :)

I think upping the size category takes care of the difficulty in moving both characters nicely too.

Yeah, I think that's a great way to go about it. Good thinking with upping the size category. We've still got a couple more "blood pig" games (from CotCT) so I'm sure this will come up again. Thanks for the help!
