So now that round 2 is over and we're way beyond the item stage...What was the "joke" item that got you so worked up?

I'd like to see what kind of item could invoke that strong of a response from someone as established in this industry as yourself.

It may have been my Arse Hat of Arsehattery, a wondrous item that makes the wearer begin strange arguments over the efficacy of one system of magic over another, while simultaneously turning off all listeners to all magic altogether. It also gives listeners a +10 bonus to attack and damage to the wearer and a tremendous sense of satisfaction once the wearer is defeated. The hat also burns with a tremendous flame that tends to start wars for reasons unexplained.

I thought it was okay...

Ha! Almost believed you...

I can see where you curiousity is coming from but this is too much like driving by the scene of a nasty car accident. Of course, you're drawn by human nature to want to know what happened in all the gory details but you have to remember that others are involved in the wreckage and should be allowed some amount of privacy.

That being said, if 'you' have the gall to treat a serious competition as if it was one big joke, 'you' have what is coming to 'you'.

To piggyback on Joshua's post, it has been said several times that no item will be discussed publicly, save for people who are specifically asking for feedback on their own items. I don't see Clark breaking that trust for our amusement.

Let's play Asmodeus's Advocate and remember never to ascribe to malice that which can be explained by carelessness. The joke item may have been written by someone who didn't realize it would be seen as a joke. Or it may be that English is not their primary language. Or it may be that they hit submit without meaning to do so. However, let it be a lesson that you ought not submit anything in jest if you expect to be a potential competitor.

Trust me, it was deliberately intended as a joke submission. It was based on an advertising campaign on television--even down to a slightly-altered version of the product's name as the wondrous item's name.

I hope not. Didn't I propose that in the joke submission thread?

Well maybe it was 'Hayes Toxy-Clean'. Just add a cup of this powder to any wound and purify it of all toxins!

They are handy for cleaning up slimes, and some molds. They are also great when you have an undead mess to clean up.

With as much as those things soak up are we certain that they're not oozes themselves? Clever little buggers!
