I have been on the hunt for a cool-looking, noncollectible, metal sculpt of an Otyugh. This image really evokes the kind of awesome I want in a figure.
AwesomeOtyugh.

Sovereign Court

Reaper already makes a metal "Dung Monster" which is about 95% identical to the otyugh.

Yeah, I've seen that one and was about to get it too but there's something about it that keeps me from ordering it. Maybe its the pose, maybe the proportions I don't know, but there's something not cool about that figure. The lifeleech otyugh is the closest to awesome I can get in a figure but I'm not a big fan of the plastic prepainted sculpts. They all seem very textureless and flat. So until Reaper makes another otyugh, I'm just going to have to settle for something less.

Sovereign Court

You could do what I did, and that's dress up it's base with fake poo...

I like the Core Rulebook versions of Valeros, Seoni, and the red dragon...

Does this mean we can expect a core rulebook Karzoug and blue dragon?

The existing Karzoug mini is sort of "meh" in my opinion, at least when compared with those new sculpts.

Valeros, Seoni, and the Red Dragon are called that because they're taken from the cover art of the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook.

Right — I meant is there a chance we will see a blue dragon and Karzoug from the Gamemaster's Guide? Sorry, I was unclear.

I don't know whether it changes the paradigm enough to make a difference financially, but there are certain sorts of miniatures that I'd buy by the dozen were they available in plastic, pre-painted, affordable sets: Gray Maidens, Hellknights, goblins, kobolds, wolves, orcs, soldiers of prominent nations, guards of prominent cities, and so on.

My painting skills have waned considerably, but I've a standing order for all the new Pathfinder figures at my flgs. I don't mind painting the occasional significant figure, but I'd love not to have to paint the hordes.

I suspect they are strong candidates, although I wonder if Karzoug enthroned would be a very popular mini.

The troll from the Bestiary cover is coming shortly as well, so it would definitely make sense.

I think the biggest measure of whether something like the blue dragon would be feasible is sales of the red dragon. Overall my contacts at Reaper tell me that the line has been phenomenally popular. I haven't even gotten our office copies of the last wave because Reaper had to sell them to fill orders. So things are going good.

But a big dragon involves a lot of metal to produce, and expensive sculpting to make sure it looks just right. I imagine the red dragon will have to sell VERY well in order for Reaper to seriously consider doing it. I certainly think that's possible, but in order for it to be probable a lot of people are going to need to pick up that red dragon.

And, having just recently seen Wayne Reynolds's sketch for the Advanced Player's Guide, the mind reels at what the sculptors will make of what's going on there.

IT'S INCREDIBLE!

Uh-oh, does this mean the Bestiary cover marilith is more likely to get miniatured than the one inside the book? Both are awesome, but the on in the book is quite a bit more demony and wild looking.

Three word hint about the sketch? Two words? :D

Not necessarily. I haven't heard Reaper mention any monsters from the Bestiary as of yet, and the cover marilith has never come up. I think there are a lot of other "Pathfindery" monsters that they'd prefer to focus on--things like pugwampis and akatas and stuff, as well as iconic characters and (especially) key, interesting NPCs from the Adventure Paths.

This promises a fight with a giant, a fight which itself is giant, or a combination of both.

Is Seltyiel ever gonna get some mini love?

Liberty's Edge

I'm picking up as much of the completet line as I can afford at my FLGS today. I'm really pleased that this line is doind well for everyone involved and I look forward to seeing an increased production schedule for them. :)

GIANT FIGHT OMG.

A spiritual successor to Dungeon #150 with its huge all the iconics vs. Demogorgon type battle? I'd bet at least all 6 new guys!

My suggestions:

The blue dragon on the GMG cover is considerably smaller than the red on the CRB.

Karzoug seated might not appeal as much if that Throne were not so cool. He seems like the kind of evil wizard who might battle seated from a flying throne anyway.

I would buy them as a set, even before the Red dragon. As the GM of a certain AP, I've come to identify with Karzoug much more than with any of the other iconics. And in a way, Karzoug is sort of an iconic now.

Anyway, if the blue dragon could be scaled down, it might make a single set with as much metal as the red dragon.

You could always... <ahem>...'make'... one yourself....just be sure to eat plenty of fibre.

While he has not been officially announced, I will say that finishing off the iconics is a very high priority for them.

Unlikely. Lem doesn't swing that way and Lini just isn't that into him.

MONA!

Friday preview pic, please!!!! You're killin' me.

Is that "Giant Fight" as in a total scrap between a bunch of creatures and characters... or knocking heads with Joten types???

Silver Crusade

I personally wouldn't mind more generic miniatures: Mercenaries, Priests of the various faiths, town guard, etc.

I hope I picked the right thread for this. Monsters? Heroes? We'll get these in every set, maybe not the ratios that some people want, but we'll get them. What we won't get most likely, however is a range of miniatures useful in a variety of non-combat situations as well. I'm hoping that the Pathfinder Battles, pre-painted plastic miniatures line can rectify some of this. Here is what I would like to see.

Ordinary people / Townsfolk:
Commoner w/ torch
Commoner w/ pitchfork
Shackled prisoner or slave (human, dwarf, 1/2 elf, 1/2 orc)
Tavern patrons (human, dwarf, 1/2 orc)
Tavern wench
Inn/tavernkeeper
Strumpet (human, 1/2 elf, 1/2 orc)
Madame
Town Crier
Stablehand
Beggar
Blacksmith
Farrier
Pickpocket
Baker
Young male Gypsy (no disrespect meant to the Romany)
Older male Gypsy (no disrespect meant to the Romany)
Older female Gypsy Harrow reader (no disrespect meant to the Romany)
Young female Gypsy dancer (no disrespect meant to the Romany)
Boy Child w/ an over-sized helmet and a wooden sword
Mongrel Dog
Girl Child w/doll
Street child
Youth gang member (human, 1/2 orc)
Rural child w/ sling
Toddler w/ bear or blanket
Servant of the Nobility
Page
Squire
Grave Digger
Errand Boy / messenger
Runaway
Livestock (Pigs, Horse, Cattle)

Odd characters / critters:
Goblin wearing a cookpot as a helmet
Orc matron w/ cleaver
Orc child
Orc tribal champion (primitive)
Orc tribal shaman (primitive)
Vegepygmy
Primitive tribal humans (African, Native American, or aborigine-like)
Neaderthal
Pirates, 2 or 3 different (human 1/2 elf, 1/2 orc, dwarf, gnome)
Pirate Captain
A dark-skinned Devotee of Besmara
Cabin boy
Undead pirates, 2 or 3 different
Ghost child
Conjoined twins
Amazon Warrior
A heavy highland warrior in a kilt
A rangy highland warrior in a kilt
A Minstrel Boy
A bagpiper (Same clan as the highland warriors)

The Apprentices:
Apprentice wizard
Clerical Noviate
Novice paladin
Ranger's apprentice
Young Witch
Young Amazon

Creatures and characters from the realm of Faerie Tales:
A Charming Prince
The Girl in the Hood (not necessarily red)
A Damsel, possibly in distress
A Shellycoat (Green-hag)
A Beautiful Witch
A Hag crone
An awakened wolf (make sure it's big and bad)
An idiot or fool
A shepherdess
A retired fighter, partially gone to fat
An older, rotund noble (a merry old soul)
The handsome, clean shaven wood cutter
A swashbuckling cat in Corinthian leather footwear
A maiden, blonde and fair

Not really... you cast raise dead on a thread from before Pathfinder Battles existed, so everyone here was talking about Reaper's unpainted metal line.

You'll want to go here.

Thank you Vic, I copied my post to the proper thread, sorry about the thread-necro. :-) oops.
