I just asked the Seattle Mob to add 2 tables of PFS on Nov. 13.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #5: Mists of Mwangi

and

Pathfinder Society Scenario #35: Voice in the Void

This is up north in Redmond, I know some of you might be interested. And I want to give you some heads up.

1/5

Interested yes, but this is a no can do for me. The Seattle Mob Game Day falls on one of the same Saturdays we play down here. If anyone else would like to go I understand, but as coordinator for Olympia I am obliged to be down here.

Man, I wish these were on alternate weekends so I could participate in Pathfinder goodness 3 weekends a month!

Shadow Lodge

There's also a session up in Bellevue at Dragon's Lair on the 5th, starting at 6:30. If anyone's interested, I also created a Google group for the Seattle region and beyond to help facilitate games.

Ya it's a shame about the dates being the same, but I know everyone at your tables sure will have great games!

Sovereign Court

I look forward to new adventures, and perhaps new lands. On a very different note (say, C flat Maj.), my player noticed something odd with at least some of my bomb shots. Apparently, he forgot to include a very specific factor on some of my missed targets...especially on the ones where I just barely missed, the dope forgot that I excel in close-up targets...UGH!! Oh well, hopefully he remembers next time.

Hey *I* plan on being at OC&C this Saturday :). See, from my place in Tacoma it's only two traffic jams [Tacoma Dome and Ft. Lewis] instead of three to four to get to Redmond. Lets face it, in the Puget Sound we don't count miles, we count traffic jams. *chuckle*

Nevertheless, my only toon, Huerny White-Eye, will be on hand to deal falcata damage to all and sundry.

Shadow Lodge

Al, you say by demanding equality for the proletariat that you enrich yourself in gold? Come the revolution reactionaries such as your self will either be rehabilitated (even if it takes decades in a labor camp), or if you are considered unnredeemable permanently removed from the workers paradise less you cause greed and envy to be introduced to our just society where we are all comrades, all equal (though of necessity some must be more equal then others). You of course will be afforded a fair trial after which you will be notified of our verdict.

Shadow Lodge

Oh let me add one more thing there are stories that many times the defendant has had revolutionary judgment rendered before he has a chance to read the verdict of his peers. This is of course a base calumny spread by reactionaries, those walking dogs of the titled, the slave owners, and Landlords.

Sovereign Court

Klutz wrote:

No good sir, not quite. You see, by your "demanding equality for the proletariat" as you put it, people (like me) who offer alchemical services generally end up selling to both sides of such a conflict...not so much from necessity, but from circumstance, much like the local armorer, cleric, etc. It's just business, nothing more.

Those that are not with us are against us.

Are we on for this Saturday?

Klutz and Al, the basis is freedom. All intelligent beings have the right to be free of government and other restrictions to pursue their personal beliefs. Our government (Andoran) promotes the individual over the majority. If one gains personal freedom through the gain of wealth and another promotes distribution of wealth in order to free the oppressed, that is OK as long as it isn't at the expense of others personal freedom.

As a member of the Andorian Army Light Calvary we are tasked with ensuring the general well being and to promote the manifest destiny of personal freedom. To that end we take our duties seriously up to and including the neutralization and possible elimination, by force, of those and their organizations that endeavor to deny those aspects of freedom to others by use of coercion and force.

Capitalism, communism, and other isms are perfectly acceptable until one crosses the line and the government is called in to provide for the common defense.

Can't we all just get along?
If not, then Say hello to my little friend!

Last I heard [on 13 Nov] that the Olympia Comics and Cards group was on for the 27th.
Sadly, my family Thanksgiving has been postponed until then so I'll have to pass on the game, dammit.

Sorry guys,

Oh dear! The mating call of the zealot, and brain-dead inbred imbeciles. My dear Klutz, if one wishes to swell their ranks with the PROPER sort, one might wish to alter their mindset ever so minutely to something more like "Those Who Are -- NOT AGAINST -- Us Are -- FOR -- Us!" That, my dear Klutz sounds much more reasonable.

Shadow Lodge

bah, why are argue with a reactionary twice the size and half the intellect of a normal person....grumble, grumble, grumble. probably prefers to drink water out of a bottle instead of a decent stein of beer.

We are on for tomorrow. Anybody have any scenarios they want to run?

I see that attempting to reason with a zealot truly is akin to teaching a pig to sing. Please do inform me when you would like to discuss the situation like a NORMAL, civilized person...I would be most willing to participate in such a discussion. Until then...

Scarab Sages 1/5

Massive thanks to both William and Jeff for running the great scenarios I played in on Sat.

Rebel's Ransom was total fun! Having a "furnace Ranger", the questioning barbarian Monk (always axing questions), and the "healing Monk" that all saved us from a TPK twice made for just a ton of fun! Everyone should play this one. Our Scribe found a new language he wishes he had known ;-)

In Frozen Finger we had a solid group that worked really good together.
Having a "bard" in the group sure helped. Hope nobody went deft by the hafling's booming voice.

Grand Lodge

It's looking like I won't be making it this coming weekend, as I'm one of the few male voices in the senior choir. Best case scenario is that I might make second session...but at this point, it's looking iffy.

Grand Lodge

I don't think it is possible considering the distance, but if anyone picks me up in Fairwood, I would pay your gas expenses, and since we have to eat dinner, that would be on me as well. I just can not drive at night.

Thelonius needs one more module to be level 6

Shadow Lodge

I'm glad things sound like they're still up and running.

In an effort to consolidate and organize events in the western washington region, I've set up a google group and a website (which is still in beta). I'd like to be able to include the Olympia group in things, since I think, once I figure out how to implement a sign-up system, it will alleviate some of the problems I know we used to have with who's running what, number of people, etc.

Grand Lodge

Well that voyage across the sea was interesting, Fortunately Jeff was the GM and not Kevin, or Thelonius once again would be floating over the ethereal plane. The assassin sneak attack back-stab din minimum damage rather the average or maximum, so I had some hit points left. With his new "white wayfinder" he even has a positive rather then negatives to his Diplomacy Bluff, and intimidate rolls. The poor only ended up with 4 GP when all was said and done.

So, is PFS up for Saturday January 8? If so, I'll be there!

What mods you planning on running?

Hey folks! Checking in and wanting to see how things are going :)

While I'm at it, I'd still really like to see the players from the Oly group sign up with the google group I've established for Western Washington players (don't let the name scare you off. It's called the Seattle Lodge, but basically my jurisdiction is as far as I can travel).

Anyway, the site can be found here. My hope is that we can spread knowledge of other groups in the area, and link everything together.

We're having one to two tables for each of the two slots every (other than Christmas) 2nd and 4th Saturday each month at Olympic Cards and Comics in Olympia/Lacey. We also ran 8 tables of PFS in Tacoma/Fife over the new year's holiday. South Sound PFS is alive and thriving.

Shadow Lodge

I didn't have any doubts. :)

Like I said, feel free to sign up. We'll be having updates on events in other parts of western washington, and I'm glad that the Oly group I started is thriving so well.

Two things.

Anyone know of what scenarios are up for Olympic C&C this weekend?

Second thing, did anyone pick up my character [Heurney White-Eye] clipboard and pencil on the 08 JAN? I thought I put it in my bag and I must have left it.

Thanks all,

That, I do not know. But, I do know that the list of adventures that I, and my players other personnas are able to play appears to be growing short.

You may have to inquire with Gabi on that.

Dear Adrial;

Just a note thanking you for “putting the spur’ to my nephew, LuRa, on my sister’s side and sending him on missions of moderate importance, and within his admittedly less then finely honed skills. I also want to thank you for trusting him to actually transcribe that Ancient codebook, for the archives, you grant honor to his family. I reviewed his work and while not of the quality one expects in our libraries, with a little concentration, one can read most off the book without pausing to cipher out his handwriting. One can see the boy can’t keep his handwriting to our standard, but it is improving.

Thanks and praise to the Ruby Prince, the image of Perfect Eternity, that we did not need a credible copy quickly or it would have been embarrassing. I will be working on teaching him diligence to the perfect presentation of the written word at all times, though I suspect it truly is a lost cause in his case. He does have some credible book learning and a few practical skills, but that constant whining “I am hungry”, “I need to relieve myself” after a mere 8 or 10 hours shows you what I have to work with. Forget trying to get any productivity after 15 or 16 hours, his mind seems to wander, and he wants a nap.

Understand it is not as if he was actually working to the Academy’s standards yet. I have him sit on the floor with quill writing and rewriting for all the day light hours, he thinks I ask him to perform unrealistic tasks to unrealistic standards. So I hold him over until the candle wax burns completely out and it is too dark to continue.

We must understand youngsters today have it way to soft but not while they are under the Academy’s tutelage. I only regret that I do not have such authority over some of his “questionable” friends who only want to run around the desert doing who knows what.

He did mange to ingratiate himself to Nesian, and I have an invite to go over there to review his library, so the child is not a total loss. It still takes me way to long to debrief him and get him to put his notes in proper order of sufficient detail to be truly useful. Though thankfully it only took us 7 hours, to get his notes in order, and him another 12 to complete his written report, but only with constant “prodding.”

I think it will do him a world of good if we can keep him busy, so please do not hesitate to call for his services. After all “idle hands tempts the devil”.

Your most humble servant,
Master Scribe, Tephu Academy of Scribes
Pyree Dojohouty

So, we up for Saturday 12 FEB?

As usual, I'll have my usual suspects and look forward to seeing everyone!

Dane,

Have you contacted the store yet? Perhaps they can put up a flyer for you calling for players. I can also send them a poster that advertises that Pathfinder Society is played there and that could also help you build a steady base of players. Heck, if you get this thing started, I could probably come down and GM the first table. :-)

How could I get said Poster for my store games in Boise, Idaho? My email [email]ralyynsedai@gmail.com[/email}

A visit from you would be awesome also, but our convention competes with GenCon so no longer expecting Paizo folks at it :)

Looks like I won't be making it this time `round, as my other half is currently down sick. Also, I'm prepping for hip replacement surgery, so it may be a little while before I return.

Josh Frost made that offer (to run the first game) while he was the campaign coordinator. He is no longer with Paizo, so he's unlikely to make the same effort as when he was head of PFS. You may contact the current PFS head, Hyrum Savage, at hyrum.savage@paizo.com, and he'll get you the poster and other promotional materials for the store.

We had a question at Sat.'s game. I posted it and got the correct answer for us.

Q.
Can a level 2 Ranger use a wand of cure light as if it were on his spell list even though he doesn't get a spell list until he is level 4? Or should he use the use magic device skill?

A.
Go to Ranger using wand of cure light wounds vs Ranger Spell list

"The Ranger is correct.

Wands are spell-trigger items, which merely require that the spell appear on a class's list, regardless of if they actually have spells yet.

(He would still need to be level 4 to use a scroll, though, because that is a spell-completion item.)"

That is precisely why I carry 2 "happy sticks".

Though I do not technically cast spells like the wizard or the cleric, my formulae behave much the same way.

It's looking like I'll be able begin attending again on 3-26. I don't know what my mobility will be like then, but it'll likely be somewhat better than today. Since my hip is getting stronger with each passing day, I may be pretty close to normal by then. Either way, we'll see.

I think for the next couple of game days I'll just be making the first session, as I'm still busily building my hip back up.

Shadow Lodge

Hey, guys! Wanted to pop in and say hi. It sounds like things are still going strong down there, and I'm immensely proud of the work you guys do keeping the group going.

I wanted to post a request here, since I'm not sure if any of you saw the other thread or not. Coming up in April, we have Norwescon in SeaTac, April 21st thru 24th, and we need a few more GMs for all three days that PFS will be held. If any of you want to check out the thread here and shoot me an e-mail or just reply letting me know which slots you're willing to GM, if any at all, that'd be awesome and I'd really appreciate the help.

I miss playing with you guys, and one of these days I intend to swing down for one of the game days. Have fun playing, and keep up the good work!

I just got home from getting a new phone. It's charging and they were able to transfer all of my contact list. I'll call you tonight if it doesn't take too long or tomorrow.

Shadow Lodge

I could still use a few GMs for Norwescon if anyone's able. GMing nets you a free pass to the Con for the day that you GM :)

I even made a Warhorn listing to ease the sign-up process here

Hey all! Just got done with PaizoCon and my first ever PFS, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and was wondering if there is still PFS going on at OCC, and if so, when?
