I am not sure i understood what you have just said. Yugoloths are not open contect, right? Thats why i asked if there is something similar to yugoloths.

What about daemons and demodands? Are they open content?

Edit: Check out the official word, one post down! Ignore the crazy person who had no idea what he was talking about.

{The D&D creatures called daemons (and later yugoloths) in earlier editions of D&D are not open content, and will be Sir Not Appearing in This Game System (unless you wish to use them yourself, using their 3.5 statistics with whatever minor tweaks you feel are appropriate).}

They're in the Tome of Horrors, Revised as Open content.

{Demodand appears to be a D&D creation (some say inspired by Jack Vance's deodands), and is not open content, so no joy there. There's nothing stopping anyone from making really stinky, drippingly pustulent or tar-seeping outsiders (other than good taste), but I can't imagine that they are burning up the top of anyone's 'to do' list.}

They're in the Tome of Horrors, Revised as Open content.

Shiver me timbers! I have the book, but missed that bit. Thanks Sean!

Demodands are open content, thanks to Tome of Horrors :) They've been already mentioned in Pathfinder products.

Matter of fact, here's a short list of Evil Outsiders in Pathfinder:

Devils
Demons
Daemons
Demodands
Kytons
Oni
Rakshasa
Qilppoths (Obyriths)
Divs
Asura

Since there are chaotic evil (demons/tanari) and lawful evil (devils/batezu), Cosmic Balance requires Neutral Evil as well!!!

Pathfinder take on NE outsiders is really great, I never really bought the "snarky merecenaries manipulating the Blood War" angle of Yugoloths. Daemons on the other hand ... whoa.

I didn't find any Daemons or Demodands in Pathfinder RPG Reference Documents (http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/monsters/monsterIndex.html#V-monsters).

Where are they in paizo's (3.5 revised) products?

Look no further than The Great Beyond, which contains information on the plane of Abbadon and stats for Astradaemons. Also, it is implied that Daemons and Demodands will appear in Bestiary II.

As a diehard Vance fan, I can state categorically that demodands bear no resemblance whatsoever to deodands, except that both have a bipedal shape (or at least vaguely bipedal, in the demodands' case).

Set said that, not me. :)

I do believe I've been summoned a few hours too late for this discussion. Hmph!

Yeah, that was something I found on Wiki, when I looked up Demodand to see if it was, like Daemon or Asura or Deva, an ancient word pillaged for later use. I haven't read enough Vance to know one way or another.

Between AD&D Demodands, Vancian Deodands and Arduin Deodanth, my head is spinning.
