How does Paizo choose who will update the daily blog?
I've noticed that several different people contribute to the blog and I was wondering if you had any rhyme or reason behind this system.
Is it on a volunteer basis or a random lottery system? Do you draw straws, spin the bottle or play Russian roulette?
Once somebody is "chosen" to write the blog, how is the content determined?
I must know the secret behind this seemingly random selection process!

I'll let Wes chime in with more details, but basically, we determine who writes the blog by a) who volunteers to write something and b) who gets stuck writing something if there is nobody volunteering. Who writes something in the latter case depends on who is closest to the project that we decide needs to have a blog.

Neat-O. It's interesting to hear about the inner workings of the Paizo machine.

In the case of my most recent blog, I asked Wes for some work to do and as he was swamped and unable to write the blog he was scheduled for, asked me to throw something together. From there I spoke with James Sutter and Chris Carey to figure out what I could conceivably write about and what would be of interest to you fine fans, and off I went.
Typically we send blog submissions to Chris by 3:00 the day before it goes live so he can run a quick copy edit and censor our hidden messages to our loved ones. (They don't want us to escape, you see)
Then they go to Ross for the final posting magiks.

Actually, I've been slated to do next monday's blog as well, so feel free to let me know if there's anything that interests you about procedures at Paizo, or personas, or content, or (I'm know, I know) new artwork (though that's really not my department).
This because I've yet to finalize any plans for that blog's content. ;)

I'd love to see a preview of the Brevoy gazetteer that will appear in Stolen Land. Of course, art is great, but if not possible, an excerpt from the article would be awesome.

Personally, I'd like to see bios of the Paizo staff (including a brief list of their duties and responsibilities) and a virtual tour of the Paizo office.
I'd rather not see ANY previews because that would make explode with anticipation. :) I want it now!

Have you checked out their bio articles on PathfinderWiki? While they don't include lists of duties, they are generally pretty thorough in providing biographical information.

I can support this in theory (as it pertains to getting material now), but requesting no previews is a good way of getting yourself on a lot of people's hit lists.

You might be interested in our Dramatis Personae and Appendix N series, or you might like to take a look at the Interviews tag.

This does sound interesting, as I've worked with a bit of the Brevoy articles. The trick will end up being what they'll let me say and what they won't... but I'll definitely look into this.
AND I'LL ATTACH SOME ARTWORK, OKAY?

I hadn't seen the Appendix N stuff before. Pretty interesting.
Still, I'd like learn more about the inner workings at Paizo.| Shadow13.com |

What are you in? The Coast Guard? I thought you guys were a band.
Vigilantes, self-appointed superheroes and, when we need the money, hired guns.
We'll sometimes do contract work for the military, but we're not affiliated with any particular branch or country. We use an old military installation in Antarctica as our "base" when we're not traveling. The weather sucks, but we don't have to pay any taxes!
We often have a lot of free time on our hands, so we decided to form a band as a side project. It's not our primary thing, but it's fun and it helps to pass the time. Unfortunately, there's not much of an audience where we live.

That's it? No drawing straws? Epic nerf gun fights? Hide and go seek? Disappointing. :)

Yeah, I had a conversation with Intern Matt last monday that went something like...
Me: "Well, Internmate Matt, this might be the last day I see you, so... yeah. Um. I guess friend me on facebook."
Matt: "Uh... the internship ends next week."
Me: "No, you're dumb. A big dummy dumb head. MLK day is monday."
Matt: "What, really? And they have it off?"
Me: "I was told by Sir Wesley, yes."
Matt: "Hmm. Maybe I'll pick up some extra hours at my job."
Yes, Intern Matt sold you out for... well, actual money. Alternately, he can't enter the building when nobody else is there, but I say it's for lack of effort. I think we do both get internship obituary blog slots if we want, but competition is tight, despite what these fellows say. Sean K Reynolds threatens to paint our eyeballs while we sleep if we don't let him do blog entries every once in a while. It's true.

Yes, I had to do all my blog entries with my nonsense art, haha. I have also been developing an appreciation for the amount of time Crystal puts into her blogs (it's a lot more than I put in, I think, but with expertise comes expediency).
I shall miss you, too, strange forum wisps. The weirdest thing about the forums is when you hit those two arguing people who have the same icon. In this specific case I was extremely confused about why this person was so inconsistent with their side-taking, and then I noticed their names were different.
But yes, Wes saves all the art for himself so you'll love him more.

My next blog will be my farewell blog, since I obviously never got around to the Brevoy one.
I would be coming into the offices tomorrow to say goodbye to dearest Tyler, but I have to do a museum fieldtrip/questionaire thing about the history of Seattle instead. And the museum hours are very un-Paizo friendly.
