As per chapter 9 of the Guide to Organized Play I'm still a tiny bit unclear on 'normal' gear you might find during the coarse of a module.
My character is wearing chain mail shirt, and we defeat someone wearing a normal breast plate. If I trade up to the breast plate, do I have to pay 200G for it at the end of the session to keep it and sell back my chain mail shirt of 1/2 (50G)? Or can I just sell back my chain mail shirt and keep the breast plate?

I don't mean to rez a thread, but this is closest to what I am asking about.
I just played a scenario last week. Say we find 10x Masterwork Thieve's Tools. Now the questions.
1) To keep these past that scenario (for use in other scenarios) they have to be bought at full price?
2) They cannot be sold, unless they were previously bought, correct? (So after say, scenario 3, they can be sold back for 1/3)
3) Is the philosophy of "use it during the scenario or lose it / buy it for the next ones" the same for all items found in the scenario, including general items?

The amount of treasure each character gets is calculated as if a six-person party sold each item that was found for half price, then divided the gold evenly. If someone wishes to keep an item found, they must pay the full 'retail' price of the item. Treasure is handled that way to ensure that characters' wealth remains appropriate for their level.
Additionally, they've simplified how treasure is handled so that players need not waste time sorting out loot when they would rather be playing.
Some people would prefer a system where each item was given its own certificate, with only one character receiving the item. Unfortunately, such systems can develop problems in organized play settings. Selfish or juvenile players may try to get all the best loot for themselves, disregarding the interests of players who they may seldom game with. Players who don't plan to use their characters again have been known to load down their friends' characters with their most powerful items.
