So the side quest says for PCs the "drop its corpse on the garbage stoop" and they'll be rewarded 100gp; but according to the shadowgarm description their bodies dissolve after they die...any suggestions? Or am I missing something?

That's why my players went after a Shadow Mastif instead. They scouted the garbage stoop and saw on dropped off. They then went after one of those.
If the PCs start doing this repeatedly, by the third or fourth time there will be a little stall nearby selling the corpses of black dogs (just unfortunate street mutts) for 10gp each ... by the sixth or seventh time there will be a competitor selling dead dogs for 5 gp - that have been dipped in cheap black dye that stains the hands/clothing of anyone who handles one...

Yeah... there was a sort of miscommunication between me and Wes there, alas (me working on the adventure and Wes working on the shadowgarm). The best solution is to assume that when a shadogarm dissolves, it leaves behind a sticky residue; scrape that up and bring it in and presto! 100 gp reward!
