I dont know if this question belongs here or if it has been asked before, but why is leadership now only available to level 7 and up?
No one gets a feat at level seven, and to my knowledge it is not a Bonus feat for any class. Wouldn't it be easier just to make it level 9 and up? or why change it at all?

In 3.5, you got a feat at 6th. Mysteriously, you could take Leadership around that point.
In Pathfinder, you get a feat at 7th (every odd-numbered level). Now, you can take Leadership at 7th. It's a close analogue that errs on the side of the PC being a better leader by having more experience in the world (higher level) and more time to get themselves known by the people who will one day be cohorts and followers.

I believe you do get a feat at level 7 (Pathfinder Core Rulebook, pg. 30).
You may be thinking of 3.5.
