Vital Strike question

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

It specifies that you don't multiply damage bonuses from Strength, weapon abilities (such as flaming) or precision based damage (i.e. sneak attack).

what about damage bonuses from regular magical enhancement bonus, feats (weapon specialization) or class abilities (weapon training)?

The concensus is that it doesnt multiply anything but damage dice, and that the list presented was just examples and not meant to be exhaustive.

It's been answered in other threads, but I'll summarize.

your normal weapon damage is xdy+z (you should be able to figure out what x,y and z are.

with vital strike it becomes 2xdy+z and if you crit with vital strike it becomes 3xdy+2z (double base damage plus vital strike)

hope that helps

Actually if you crit with vital strike it would be (A+1)xdy+z damage where A is the crit multiplier of the weapon

Which is why a vital strike crit with a scythe would do 10d4+z damage (A=4, x=2, y=4)

It would actually be (A+1)xdy+Az yeah?

ah ok.

Let's try to put stuff like Pi, e, and the Planck Constant into that formula.

I think pie and planks are improvised weapons...I could see a plank but could you vital strike with a pie?
