Val follows Magnar into the first room, her beautiful face contorting into a frown at the state of the battlefield. She looked around carefully for anything that might be a threat.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Eh, probably not.

She looked back at Tarphrex, Estella, and Sherman. "Did you do this?"

After that she assesses the skull carvings to see if they had any religious significance.

Kn:Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Valorina nods and looks back at Tarphrex and Estella.

Lina is built to be the party's front line blocker, so she should be the second PC in line behind the scout.

The tall woman in gleaming armor positions herself near the door so she can hear if Magnar calls for aid.

Valorina hefts her shield a bit as Tarphrex points at the door and says "troll". "Before we do, do you usually have someone scout ahead and report back or would you prefer I go in front with my shield? Darkness is no bar to my eyes."

She's been around the block and knows party roles, it makes sense for her to ask for the marching order.

Valorina nods at Sherman, looking for the holy symbol of any deity. "I am always happy to meet a fellow person of faith, Reverend. Though in my case, faith comes easier since I have already seen the River of Souls once." That might be a lot to unload on strangers but she doesn't elaborate. Instead, she gestures at Magnar.

"Magnar, I believe you have that scroll to give to Elisani?"

"A pleasure to meet you, miss." Valorina reaches back out to shake Estella's hand. Even with her hand encased in shining steel, it is evident that the heavily armored woman is holding back much of her strength as she shakes with Estella.

She nods at Tarphrex. "I will do my best to keep you from losing any more friends."

The other newcomer is a tall, dark haired woman in gleaming plate armor so well polished it could be used as a mirror. She wears a blue tabard with Falayna's symbol stitched into it and carries a large white shield, also bearing Falayna's holy symbol. She smiles at Tarphrex. "I do my best to keep my friends alive, little one." Taking in the rest of the group, she nods in Magnar's direction and introduces herself.

"I am Valorina Fieravelli." Her accent is Chelish (i.e. Italian) but softened a bit with more generic Varisian one, like someone who has lived somewhere for a long time but hasn't lost her original accent yet. "When the Church heard the Vales were sending someone to help you, miss, they decided to send someone along to help finish your group's mission."

She paused for a moment before adding, somberly, "I knew Zenaida. She saved my life once."

I've updated Magnar's background. The alias was originally made for a Giantslayer game, so I worked that in (although this version got further in the storyline than the original one did).

Magnar, how do you feel about these 2 traveling together from Korvosa? It would give them a week (maybe more, I'm just looking at the map distance not calculating travel time with terrain) of knowing each other before getting into the game.

Reading through Valorina's info:

a) Please make sure that things like AC, Init, perception bonus, and saves are all listed in your status so I can quickly reference them.

b) The change I made to background skills says they can only be used for Craft, Profession, and Perform. No Knowledge skills.

c) Cantico: Just wanted to clarify. Is this a named weapon that you did for flavor (awesome), or is it an actual item related to your diety (neat, but I can't find it in Archives of Nethys)?

a) Yeah it's only 90% done, I will put that in.

b) Sorry I missed that none of the Kn skills part, I'll fix it.

c) It's just a +1 longsword I gave a name.
