Okay I'll bring Tika back into the game. although would it be be possible for me to switch some things around? (nothing ground braking just switching weapons) and I take it I would stay at the xp I'm currently at?
Sure. And welcome back, of course.

Yay! We'll be easy to find. Look for the seedy bar by the docks with burly sailors being thrown bodily out of windows. Hopefully not through the walls again, 'cause that was too expensive for 15 minutes' fun.
Oh, and Ka'kara might be brawling, too.

Since robin put me up to it I'm going to usher you into Rappan Athuk mwahaha! if and when we get through Grey Citadel (and I have high hopes actually, considering how well we are doing). Now neither of these adventures has an obvious hook, so I'm plotting away here. In a tabletop game I'd work with players to integrate something from the character's background, but here I think I'll have to be a bit more crude about it.
So if you have any ideas for hooks from your character's background, just write me a spoiler. There are hero points to be had if I find anything useful. Hope to be getting you on the road Monday at the latest.

Knowing nothing about either adventure, I don't think most of us are going to know what sort of hooks you are looking for. That said, Roylenna's background is "published" and you are welcome to work with the unspecified periods of time -- I left gaps intentionally for such as this.

Okay what would be the best way to explain where Tika has been and to explain her abscence? Also it occurs to me what lvl is everyone else at right now? (need to determine how far behind she is before deciding if what I was planning to do would work or not.)
We lost her at the Roadside Inn, which is where we originally met her. It would be easy to say she had business and was going to catch up, but we returned before she managed to do so.
As for levels, I think we are all third (or nearly so) and fourth. There was some discussion earlier, not sure which thread, about where different folks were, so the answer might be here with a little look. Sorry I don't know for certain off the top of my head.

Sounds like the Tika re-introduction might also be a good opportunity to tie in the next adventure. Her temporary disappearance had something to do with the Grey Citadel.
I could go with that. Also finished modifying her gear (upgraded to a chain shirt, and switched the rapier for a longspear.

for a longspear.
Hey! You stole that idea from Ka'kara! Heh, does a halfling long-spear have reach? (it does, I think, because small creatures still threaten the area around them) At which point does it lose that ability? Lol, I can just see fine or diminutive creatures killing you from 10' feet away. I am guessing that the sizes that normally have a threat range of 0' feet get a 5'foot threat range with one. Anyway, just amused me to think about. It's probably in the rules somewhere.
P.S. Ka'kara will happily discuss longspear tactics with Tika :)

Tika:
I'll be assuming that you won the contest (it's up to you to decide what it was) and that you gained the map from Chip. Chip was being rather vague about the lady, but she was human, in her thirties and probably a priestess of some kind, but he can't really remember seeing her carrying any holy symbol. Her clothes were expensive but discreet. Chip and his late friends met her on the road close to Seahill a few years ago.
The place marked on the map is in the southwest, past Seahill. If you think you can make something out of this, you will get two hero points for your trouble.

Your background would make more sense to me if you were Viridian, but given your lack of memory I'd say that the only difference that would make is that your skin would have a noticeable greenish tinge. I expect that you would speak Common as your first language. How's that sound?

Okay by me. I'll incorporate that into the background when I finish the character. Do you want me to introduce the character in the game thread right now, or to wait till Monday?

You're welcome to jump right in. Even better, you could recruit the rest of the bunch to accompany you and Greta to Seahill (those roads are dangerous and you need all the protection you can get).
You start with 3 hero points, and you get one extra if you manage to recruit the gang.
AinvarG
Okay, my first post in the game thread is up. I'll try to flesh out the statistics tomorrow. By the way, what are hero points and how do they work?
They are something like action points in that you can spend them to improve a roll, but they can be used for other things, too. BT will have to provide the full list 'cause I can never find it.
(By the way, Black Tom, I was thinking it might be a good idea to copy that list in your avatar so we can find it more easily and you can edit it over time.)
And welcome aboard, nightflier. Roylenna is my alter ego in the game. Looking forward to gaming with you.

Ironically Mahaffy is probably the only character sensible enough to have apprehensions about Rappan Athuk. I think it will suit you fine. I can't imagine another party who wouldn't need more goading.
Yay! We're perfect for it! Wait, is that good....?
Are we going to keep this discussion thread, or are you starting another?

I'll keep this one. Don't see why not.

My apologies for knocking half the party out of the fight, but I think that's a consequence of running a large party like this, if you are to keep battles interesting. Hopefully this battle won't last very much longer.
Near as I can tell, you only impacted the two halflings. But we're a resilient race, we'll be up to snuff and as annoying as ever before you know it!

Good. I was afraid I'd have to redo the battle.

I must say I was confused about Kai's condition - I was sure he was still standing when Lyria moved to heal him, and was quite surprised when I discovered he was already down. Not much to do about it now though.

Sorry about that. I didn't check Kai's hps, so I didn't discover the error in time. By the way, I'll assume that Lyria will take a 5' step out of the giant's reach after healing herself, at least so as not to be susceptible to Cleave.

My condoleances about Kai. Nightflier, if you are up for it, you are welcome to create a new character and join the party in Seahill. I should probably have been more clear that I was hoping for a more defensive build, but I'm impressed by the sheer indomitability of Kai.
He'll join Thorak and Rana in Valhalla for sure.

You know, I'd be very interested in creating new character. The thing is, I have fever right now so I don't know if I'll make it in time. How much time do I have to create a new character? And I think I'll go with a dwarf this time.
Black Tom
Take your time. This battle will probably last a few more days of real time, and then I'm looking forward to a spot of role-playing. So basically you're welcome to join whenever you feel well enough. If you should miss them in Seahill, you could always catch up on the road or in Thunderhold.
Take care, get well soon.

Heck yeah, Thorak ran to catch up with us on the road. Literally -- we started the original adventure short one dwarf and he caught up with us during an encounter.
Sorry to see Kai go -- there was a lot of unexplored flavor there, I'm thinking. (Haven't looked at the character sheet, just from your descriptions in-game.)
Get well soon!

How about summoner? Eidolon should be useful as a tank?

It's worth a try. I haven't looked at the updated rules, but I'm willing to give it a go.
Which brings us to the eternal question: How many arcane casters does it take to change a lightbulb?

I'm trying to think of something different than what others are playing. Another idea is dwarf fighter or barbarian, perhaps some kind of battle druid?
Bombur Stonefist
Bombur's hit points: 10 (first level max) + 2d10=19 + 12 (Constitution) + 3 (Favored Class) + 3 (Toughness) equals 47. Someone please check my counting. The fever is making me seeing double.

I just hope AC 2 is a typo ....
I must say Ka'kara does not live to my expectations there ... Two rounds without hitting, I'm not used to such a poor display from her .
Sigh , Dwarf to the rescue then ...
Actually, her rolling has been really abysmal for quite a while now. The only reason she didn't seem way more ineffective was that the zombies were so easy to hit it didn't matter what she rolled. She fumbled once with the moth (which she never hit btw) and then twice more with the zombies. This battle is pretty much par for the course...so please step up and gut this giant before we all die. Your our only hope Mahaffy!
