Starting Legacy of Fire Next Month. Advice?

I will have 6 players in this group. Two of these players also play in my Council of Thieves Group, which I will be starting tomorrow.

So far only three players have come to me with character ideas:
Summoner
Bard
Human Rogue
?
?
?

One of the players asked me how I felt about him playing a 40 year old gnome. I haven't responded yet, but I'm leaning towards No. I would suspect 40 year old gnomes don't travel around Katapesh alone freely; they most likely would get picked up by the slave-traders and sold into a life of servitude.

Anyway, does anyone have some advice as to what to expect with this AP? Most of the players like to role-play more, but they all enjoy combat.

Can you expand on the question a bit? The first module in the path has both lots of combat and lots of NPCs to interact with, so you can probably get as much roleplaying as they want.

Well that part's easy. The gnome PC *is* a slave, probably owned by the Pactmasters or maybe Almah herself. He or she earns their freedom after HotCK.

Ive been running LoF for a while now and were deep into the 2ed book.

I hate to say it but jimmy the encounter in the alchemist lab so that you end up with a moldspeaker, my Bard is having a wonderful time being our moldspeaker and having read through the books there are to many powerful tools for role play to keep it from feeling like your railroading them with the subtle hints you can feed your moldspeaker out of game to push them in the right direction.

Make them HATE pugwampis from the start. I did such a good job of this no one else wants to even mention them because they have become a dirty word. It makes me giggle.

Lots of very useful information there

If your going to have 6 players I would maybe give them 5-7 HP instead of 3, Or up the number of them even with their DR of 3 they go down very easy but choose one or the other not both, they are supposed to be annoying not aggravating. All of this is just to reinforce how much they should loathe these minuscule creatures. Do it right now and they will talk about them through the entire campaign
