oooh! gleefully claps the glacial drake is my handiwork! Yay, glacial drake!
erm, go get'em, everyone! What for!
:D
-Ben.
It rolled superbly on its first round.
Terraleon
Spoiler:
Seemed to make sense to shift this encounter to outside the Citadel. Starving predators waiting for fresh meat. The frosties are smart enough to have attacked before they got there, these boys are not. Plus, the drake has some nice powers I wanted to test.
bmars - how are things looking for you? Depending on who your character turns out to be, I can give you a slightly different introduction which may be helpful to the others as well.
I personally don't have any burst attack but Quillan has an attack he could use to put the swarms next to each other for easier blasting. Anyone have a good burst or blast that I should know about?
What, was it your idea to include the things with the area-effect Dominate? If those things can do that more than once an encounter, well let's just that it's a good thing that the monsters in this fight seem reasonably flimsy.
Male not always to the swift nor the strong. Bard6 / Paladin2 / Fighter2 / Magus4 / Dad2
I wrote a later section of the adventure and spearheaded the conversion to from d20 to 4E. But then that's why I'm watching with such excitement-- you guys are like opening night!
I'm really aware of how frustrating stunning is even at a table game, still more a pbp and I promise not to leave you all incapable of acting through the whole encounter. They have many other nasty things they can do to you - mostly involving pointy stuff. Regard their attack as a warning shot. These guys are not exactly normal.
My good rolls ran out right about the time their tactics kicked in. Ah well. Now we all know that derro are very nasty.
Anyone wanting to do a rebuild of sorts is most welcome to do so. Make sure you run any major proposed changes past me and also ensure that all the new details make it into your profiles.
Well, that fight got a little tougher once the bad guys stopped hurting each other ... ;)
I've been having a blast following this, so I wanted to stick my head in and thank everyone for such a fun PbP. Keep up the fine work!
Rev DM,
map stuff:

I'm a lousy mapper and there is (alas) no way I can recreate the isometric without brain surgery :)
But it is a thing of beauty and I'll post it if I can find a cunning way to cut and paste it into Flickr, just so you can see how pretty it is.
Jon Roberts has posted images of the maps from Roots, Grajava, and Deeper on Cartographer's Guild. The Roots thread is here. You might have to sign up (free) to see them, but I thought that might help get the images in a Flickr-ready format.
Let me know if you need anything for Eye of Grajava. This is great fun to watch!
Should it matter right now, I'll be heading for Wandering Swordmage. I was planning on it when I first made the character, and damn it I'm going to take it now.
