Do Aasimar, Tiefling and Drow have Level Adjustments?

Rules Questions

After reading my friends copy of the bestiary I was unable to find the level adjustment of these races. I had hoped that the planetouched at least were to be level adjustment free in pathfinder.

However, having looked at them they seem to be little difference to 3.5

The only real change I could find was the boost to tiefling sorcerers.

Thus these two races seem (especially with the +2 stat upgrade to default races) now to be stuck somewhere at level adjustment 0.5. Too good to really be base races yet not good enough to be worth throwing away an entire level on.

PF Bestiary Appendix 4 (Monsters as PC's) notes that even if monsters have no racial HD they sometimes are treated like they have one.

My question is: How do I work out if a race needs a 1 class level adjustment?

Also if they are 1 class level candidates do they get the extra level back between lvl 2 and 3 as laid out in appendix 4.

Thanks for reading. Sorry about the verbosity of this post :)

There are no officail level adjustments for monsters in the Pathfinder RPG. Those are gone from the game.

Monsters are meant to be monsters.

The Pathfinder Game leaves those kinds of things up to the GM as they're the finally authority on what works and doesn't work for a particular race in their game. There is a table in the main Pathfinder Core Rules that lists which monsters are easier to convert for player use, but it's only showing suggestions.

Some GM's might find running Tieflings or Aasimar completely fine in their games, others might give them an experience debt to work off or decide to start the other players off with more starting gold.

It's also been said on numerous occasions that there is a possibility of a monsters as PC's thing (book/pdf/something) but nothing in the works now.

If you'd like to see some of their suggestions for Tieflings as player characters, the latest adventure path The Council of Thieves has them in both the adventure book as well as the Free Player's Guide.

(So you are made aware, your like the 400th person to ask this on the boards. No offense to you or anything, but I'm telling you so aware of that.)

Thanks for the info.

Sorry if this has been said before. I did run a few searchs of the messageboards before I posted and found nothing that wasn't months old. (But then it wouldn't be the first time one of my addons had broken a forum search thingie) :)

I found the section on p405-407 now in the core book after depressingly little searching. Who knew an index would prove useful? :)

Thanks for letting me know what to look for.
