It's going to be an arcane warrior.

That still leaves a LOT of latitude. Do you mean, an Eldritch Knight rewrite? A base class? What focus -- casting spells through a weapon, like a Spellsword? Summoning allies to help him in battle, like Elric? Better defenses, like an Abjurant Champion (if quickened abjurations, think carefully about greater dispel magic)? Full BAB (if so, no need for Tenser's transformation)? 3/4? Half? Full spell progression? 7/10? Half-caster?

Dark Archive

Base class, focused on buffs and weakening his opponents with some offensive capacity. 3/4 BAB, d8 HD, Spell progression similar to a bard. Sort of like Eragon, without the Dragon. Although I am thinking of giving him a beast companion at one of the higher levels.

Spellcasting progression?

Class features (most important consideration)?

Edit: Haven't read Eragon. Nor Fragon, or Gragon, or Hragon, for that matter (or whatever the sequels were called).

Progression is similar to a bard, I'm still working on class features.

Ah, OK. Nail those down, and the spells list will naturally follow, I should think... or at least will be a lot easier to compile.

There was a strange rattling sound in my closet tonight. I went and checked--it turned out to be the the shelf with the minis. Could a squirrel have gotten down into the closet from the attic? Were my precious minis safe? I open the large plastic storage organizer where the rattle was coming from. There was no squirrel, but inside the box marked "Gnolls" was jerking about, as if its contents were attempting to escape. I quickly closed it and secured all the plastic latches on the outside, tightly, then I secured the closet door. Hopefully, Gnollapalooza will pass without incident.

David - Kudos on putting up the Bulmahnaut. I'm sure some are going to go 'WTF' on some of the skills (i.e. the sailor reference), but it made me smile nonetheless.

Maybe there should've been some reference to be able to shatter objects when in the vicinity of a china shop. LOL

The five gnolls I posted here is the whole of gnollapalooza, for now.

Ooo, neat. Hmmm, maybe a gnoll druid with a quasi-plant template added... Grassy gnoll?

Fragile objects as a favored enemy?

For Bulmahnauts taking Ranger as their favored class, it oughta.

How about all hits as automatic crits against fragile objects? ^^

Spell Focus (Sudden Maximized Shatter) should be an at-will spell-like cantrip.

Spoiler:
BTW, did you see that Optimus Prime eidolon? I like the summoner class in concept, but the grognard in me is wincing at these Pokemon builds... But then again, that's probably the thing that will attract sales from the younger audience to toss some dollars Paizo's way.

But hey, at least that summoner's party won't have to worry about mounts and hauling their spoils.

Then again, we can now perhaps better model Theleb K'aarna and his summoned Quaolnargn, from Moorcock's "The Stealer of Souls" (and the 1st edition DDG) -- far better than we could with a conjurer.

Ugh. Failed my save against the firewall; will have to check out the images later. Other than knowing who Moorcock is, I've never read any of his novels to be able to guess what you're referencing.

And you call yourself a D&D player? For shame!

Spoiler:
In "The Stealer of Souls" (1962), a summoner named Theleb K'aarna, who is personally something of a feeb, summons the dreaded Qualnargn -- a Huge, invisible, energy-draining creature of doom from the Abyss -- and sics it on Elric (the hero of the stories). Elric is only able to survive because he has near-perfect knowledge of extraplanar beings, and an ultra-powerful artifact sword. With Qualnargn out of the way, Theleb K'aarna desperately tries summoning an elder fire elemental, but the guy no match for Elric in the magic department, and goes down like a chump.
In short, it's about a guy who specializes in summoning spells, who is something of a one-trick pony: he's got a super-powerful attack pet, and after that, is reduced to somewhat below-level-par conjuration spells.

Never was really much of a fantasy reader when I was younger. Star Wars, Tolkien, and Dragonlance was about as much as I dabbled in. I was more into reading horror and Lovecraft.

Other than some Eberron books, I haven't read fantasy in a long time. I rarely even read fiction; most of my readings go toward philosophy, comparative religion, theology, sociology, the various metal mags, and Maxim and Playboy for the fluff.

However, with Pathfinder Fiction coming around, I may revive reading the genre so I'm more familiar with Golarion.
