Players in Monty Haul's defunct PBP Games

Gamer Connection

This is a general call out to the various players in the PBP games I started up earlier this year. Three jobs kind of got in the way and I had to withdraw from running those games, however the university year is drawing to a close - meaning I will only have two jobs as of a couple of weeks time. :)

I would like to resume running one or more PBPs and would like anyone who is interested in resuming those various games to post here. If there's enough players to resurrect a game that would be easiest. However, if there is some interest but not the entire group of players, it may be possible to merge a couple and/or start afresh.

It would also involve updating characters to PF from Beta. Let me know if any of you are interested. I plan on giving people a week or two to stumble across this thread - after that we'll see who's still around.

Cheers
Steve

Hey, looks who's alive. Well, Garret and Saamasal are still around and not reused.

Cheers - hopefully some of their companions are still around the place too. I've been missing the creative effort of trying to deal with a Gith, Hobgoblin, Ethereal Dragon, Goblin/Were-rat and Ghost.

Damandor wandered off and visited a pancake shop momentarily, but is ready to get back to the action. I can let Grunthor's player know and I'm sure that he would be willing to start up again. Hope that we can get everyone back together as I was really enjoying our quest to reclaim Bastion.

Hi Doug. I'm glad to see a couple of you still around anyhow. Hopefully one or two more will spot this and still be interested - I may need to indulge your ability to suspend disbelief if one or two disappear and/or any join from the other games I was running. Then again, after a hiatus of several months, I doubt the jolt would be too difficult to accomodate.

Things are getting a bit more manageable at work, so I will be able to post regularly again - hopefully for good this time.

Grunthor is still alive & awaiting a chance to bash some heads.

Not a problem if some of the names change to protect the innocent, oops, I mean replace the missing.

I'll keep checking back on this thread, and I still have the others set up in my RSS feeds, so I'll know if anything gets posted to them.

Anyssa and Elysia are both still around. :)

Although my life is a little bit er, crazy, yeah, that's probably the best word for it, right now. So I may be in and out a bit if things are moving quickly.

Dang, how'd I miss this so long? I'm definitely ready to jump back into things, although I'm very sad that Douena's entire plan for stealing the mask is now no longer viable due to the changes from Beta to Final. (I'll go ahead and speak for Zerekias and say that he's available too.)

EDIT: Nevynxx is still around too, although I won't speak for him. But if I missed this thread, he might well have, too. I'll post it over in our game thread.

Yeah right. Like Douena only has ONE plan..

Thanks for that. I sent him an email also. Looks like he's somewhat busy at the moment.

Well it looks like the Bastion and J1 games are both still alive. I will leave it for a week or so in case others might still be interested who havent yet seen this thread. In the meantime, I presume everyone is ok with converting to pathfinder proper from the Beta?

When we get closer to kicking things off again, I'll post a summary of where things stand in each of the game threads. Possibly things will be a little revised if party numbers are down but not too much, by the look.

Well, I poked the two people from the Undermountain thread that I'm in games with. Hopefully they'll be around shortly.

I very much enjoyed reading the Undermountain thread; I hope you can continue it. It was a shame when you lost the ghost; I liked her.

Ack! Big Major Ack!

Struggling a bit to keep the pace on the Legacy of Fire going, but we have a reasonable amount of original players still going....

*Cheers*
The ethereal dragon is back in business!

Glad to hear it - that makes two of you. Hopefully one of the others will poke their head in shortly.

Well, Xaaon should be along one way or another once he actually reads the note I let him over in the Paranoia thread.

*nod* I've been following along. Let me know if you wish to continue as DM or if you'd prefer to return to just playing Losk. (And again - thanks heaps for stepping in when I disappeared).

Are you interested in restarting the J1 game?

Steve Geddes wrote:

Please do, Nevynxxx! Who's going to look after Douena if Garai's not there?

Hi know I am not actually one of your players but just wanted to say if any of your games are short a player I would be more than happy to make a character to use in them.

Cheers - I was planning a general call if there end up being any gaps. I'm going to leave it another week to give people a chance to see the thread, so there may not end up being any vacancies. Nonetheless, you can consider yourself in if I'm in need of a player (and if the game in question interests you).

Like Kevin, I'm not one of your regulars, but would be interested in either the Entombed with the Pharaohs or the Legacy of Fire run, if you've got a space open after the regulars sign up.

OH Monty you're BACK!!!

My wererat is ready to roll baby!

Current roll call:

Bastion - Anyssa, Damandor, Grunthor, Garret

J1 - Douena, Elysia, Zerekias (and hopefully Garai)

Undermountain - Cenciach, Grakl, Saamasal

Consider yourself added to the list, although it does look like most of the games will be filled.

I'd love to go back to just playing Losk again, especially with the complexity of the current situation ;)

Steve Geddes wrote:

Absoltely!

Last bump for anyone who hasnt yet expressed interest in resuming the Bastion or Undermountain games. They will restart at the end of the week...

J1 is restarting as soon as characters are upgraded, Legacy of Fire is continuing.

You rang?

Glad to have you back. :)

The Undermountain game will be starting up as soon as I can dig out my notes. JZ - if you want to revive Yuhm Yuhm, just let me know.

Monty, would you have an extra spot in your J1 game?

Yuhm Yuhm wrote:

It's possible, but probably not I think. I didnt want to run too many PCs with that one and I'm pretty sure we're back to four.

I'm going to see how things go over the next couple of weeks with all of them - see which ones are still alive. :)

if you find that you need a player for the undermountain game, i have an idea for a Doppelganger cleric of Calistria i would really like to play. Perhaps even a vampire doppelganger. A blood sucking, change shaping seducer :D

You're first on the list - for now it seems to be full, but keep an eye on things over the next couple of weeks in case someone decides to drop out. I'm keen to keep all the games going. Currently both J1 and Undermountain seem to be doing ok.

Legacy of Fire has a strong core group, although it looks like Parvenah will not be rejoining. Kevin Mack and Set - that means I'll be able to take on the two of you if you are still interested in joining that game. (There's a link in my profile or look for Monty Haul's Legacy of Fire if you want to skim through it to see what's been going on).

Bastion is struggling to get going, but I'm happy with the reduced numbers (although the current fight is suddenly much harder than it was going to be...). Anyssa mentioned she'd be busy for a little while so we'll give her a couple more weeks and hopefully she'll be able to rejoin.

Kevin and Set - if you are interested in taking a spot in the game, post any character questions/discussions etcetera in the discussion thread and I think we'll be able to fit you in "soon".

Unfortunately, I am away this weekend, so won't be able to answer anything for the next 48 hours or so. I'll check in as soon as I can.

Uhh I'm already playing in two other legacy of fire games would that be a problem?

Kevin Mack wrote:

Well it would be fine by me, provided you thought you'd enjoy it. We're not too far into it and have had something of a "revolving door" with PCs visiting for half a dozen posts or so then disappearing - not sure what that says! :) Losk, Nuveril and Nano are the currently active players - they all post regularly and the pace of the game should pick up from here. Have a browse through the game thread and let me know one way or the other.

If you're keeping a replacement list for LoF, please put me on it. I'm willing to play any kind of role in the party.

Dark Archive

I'm fine with the legacy of fire one question though.I'm wondering what books you allow (ie is it all core pathfinder or do you allow wizards books?)

So, uh, think we should do some rerecruitment for the Bastion game?

Davi The Eccentric wrote:

I expect so - I'm going to give Lynora a little more time (she mentioned things were a little manic at the moment). Based on whether she's interested in continuing I'll recruit one or two more.

Kevin Mack wrote:

I'd prefer just core pathfinder for now. Having said that, I generally follow a "say yes" approach, so if you were particularly wedded to some character concept, I'd be willing to be persuaded.

No trouble - there's a loose replacement list. For now I think we're ok, but I'll keep you posted.

I was travelling then straight to work, so I'll remain an alternate for now. Have fun, Kevin!

If you're still interested Set - we can use another replacement now as well. We currently have three players - cleric, barbarian and sorceror. I'm going to accept two more so Kevin and You get first option if you want it.

Awesome! I'll check the Player's Guide to Legacy of Fire and work something up.

A Druid sounds like a decent option, provide some backup healing and backup tanking.

Would a Summoner (new playtest class) be an option? If so, that would be my first choice, although I'll stat up the Druid real quick.

Ooh, got the Druid done in time for the edit. :)

Appearance / Backstory Despite his youth, Shadrach has the weathered and craggy features of a man twice his age, thanks to his childhood years serving as a caravan guide and guard. After a sandstorm swept in and destroyed the caravan belonging to his owner, a woman named Haleen found him half-buried in the sand, and placed him upon her horse while she walked alongside, bringing him to town. She became like a big sister to him, allowing him to find his own path, and encouraging in him the same sort of love of the underdog, which led to his taking in an abandoned racing dog, with a broken leg. Years have passed since that day, and his original dog has since died, but he still keeps one of her pups as his companion, having sworn oaths to a group of druids who consider themselves caretakers of the desert and its ancient sites. His straight black hair is uncut and tied indifferently behind his head, while his scraggly beard is evidence that he is perhaps not as old as his weather-lined face suggests.

Haleen has in recent months left under mysterious circumstances, and he has heard rumor from his contacts at the caravanserai that she may have been seen near the old ghost town of Kelmerane. He wonders if the time has come to repay her debt and go forth to rescue her in turn.

If Kevin wants to go with the Campaign Trait Finding Haleen as well, I can switch easily enough to Reclaiming Your Roots and take a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with 20 charges, in place of the extra hp and skill point (which I'll take out of knowledge - geography).

Looks good Set - I'd prefer to avoid the playtest classes if possible so your druid will be a fine addition.

Once we have Kevin's character I should be able to add the two of you in relatively swiftly (a bit of a stretch story-wise but some new blood will be good to kick the game along, I think). Keep an eye on the discussion thread and I'll let you know once we're ready to begin.
