Help.
I vaguely recall a feat that permanently used a spell slot to change a spell into a spell-like ability usable 3 times a day.
I do not remember where I read this feat. Does anyone here know.
I'm thinking I could use this feat to change a sorceror into a warlockish character.
Just a thought.
Thanks.

I don't know about any feats (and I did a quick scan of Complete Arcane since I had it handy), but the description sounds sounds a lot like the Archmage Prestige Class's High Arcana (from the DMG), which allows him to to give up a slot to cast it two/day. There may be a feat that replicates that, but I'm not aware of it.
On an only tangentially related note, there is a feat in Complete Arcane called Innate Spell that lets you cast a spell as an SLA one/round... but prerequires Quicken, Silent, and Still spell, and permanently takes up a spell slot eight levels higher.

Innate spell.
IIRC it was something like 6 to 9 level difference. So if it was 6 levels, you needed 7th level slots to make a 1st level spell "innate"

Innate Spell
[Metamagic]
(Player's Guide to Faerun p39)
Silent Spell
Still Spell n/a
Choose a spell you know. You may use this spell 3 times per day as a Spell-Like Ability
(i.e., no need for verbal, somatic, & material components). You lose one spell slot of an identical level to your Innate Spell.
You may take this Feat more than once, choosing a different spell each time.
You know... this would be a pretty spiffy feat for a sorcerer to take the level before he gets to swap out a spell known. Take something he'd only want to cast 2-3 times per day, and then trade that out for something else. Especially spiffy for 4th level spells since there are so dang many a sorc would want.
(It's also good for a wizard, trading 1 spell slot for 3 uses of a given spell.)
The only rough part is the prereqs, which alot of casters don't use. YMMV

Innate Spell
[Metamagic]
(Player's Guide to Faerun p39)
Note that this is NOT the most recent printed version of the spell (and is, frankly, dramatically overpowered -- it allows you to turn wish or, even better, gate into a 3/day ability with no material components, by sacrificing a single 9th-level slot that would have been used to cast that spell anyway).
The MRP is in Complete Arcane. It requires Quicken, Silent, and Still Spell feats, uses up a slot 8 levels higher than the spell you want to make innate (so in Pathfinder not useful until 9th level spells), and you still must pay any material component costs. However, it does become at-will rather than 3/day.

It's been around for years, technically not open content, but Wizo's have been aware of it and never shut it down.
