And what a proud customer I am. That has to be the best book ever done for a fantasy game. I love all of the links too. The only complaint I have is to have a return to previous content link or a link to the index on all pages so I can quickly find my way back to the starting content.

I know that you probably would rather have me purchase the book. However, I went paperless mainly I got sick of lugging 200 pounds of books everywhere. Also, my shelf space has been overrun with computer books which are also being replaced by the electronic versions.

Perhaps if Paizo releases a leather bound collectors edition, I may purchase that.

Long live the Original Dungeons and Dragons now called Pathfinder and until swords part!

Iuse Adobe Reader 8.0 and the Previous View and Next View buttons allow me to navigate to the page I was previously looking at instantly and vice versa - this works on any PDF.

I have 8.0. I meant if you followed a link from page 4 and it took you to 200 and then I want to get back to 4 - there is no option for that.

Interesting I found the PDF index. For some reason it was deactivated unlike the one I have my DnD books.

I recommend Foxit Reader, its alot less bloated than Adobe is these days and has a button for going back to the previous page you were looking at.

Hmm it would be nice to speed up page loading, I'll look into it.

Thanks!

Yes, in Adobe Reader 8.0 the Previous View and Next View buttons do exactly that (they shouldn't be confused with the Previous Page and Next Page buttons). You may need to add them to your toolbar but they are definately there!

I use them to get back to the Cleric Spell List when I have followed a link to a specific spell.

Why use 8.0 and not 9.0?

Version 8.0 has serious exploits available in the wild that pretty much means you shouldn't be viewing PDF files found on the internet with it.

Version 9.0 does too, but there are patches for 9.0 to fix.

Its just waht I have installed on the PC at work - I haven't really given it much thought. The only reason I mentioned the version was because I wasn't sure earlier versions had the Prev / Next View functionality.

Thanks for letting me know about the issues with 8.0 though.

I am using 9.

And thanks I found out how to add the buttons. I do not know why they left those buttons out in the default.

I am going to try that other version too to see if it is a faster viewer.

The best protection is using a wide variety of programs so that an exploit is not able to profit from a monoculture. So using other programs besides Adobe Reader is a sound advice.

A reason I tend to prefer version 8 over version 9 in terms of acrobat, is because of the way it handles images. When trying to copy images out of a pdf to show players of a PbP or the like version 8 pulls the image out very cleanly, giving a plain black background behind it. In version 9 it seems to be much less effective and I often have to snapshot it instead and trim everything down in my imaging program.
