Malick is up.

Malick moves towards the monster, unslinging his halberd as he goes.

"Going to set you up a flank, Flint. Be ready."

Double move to N2

Malick moves in to flank the rolling fog but it senses the danger it's in it surges in intensity turning a sickly green. The vortex runs in a zigzag path passing over Mountain and Flint leaving a poison vapor in its wake that causes 15HP poison damage. The whirlwind settles into it' previous state lashing pseudo-pods out and ensnareing Typhus dragging him inside itself, causing 10 points poison damage.
(Typhus will take damage every turn he stays inside the cloud, need to resist the grab to get free)

"Thing's made a big mistake. Typhus is sure as hell going to give it indigestion. Surround and conquer folks, surround and conquer."

I make that Flint and Mountain taken damage and Typus being sucked dry by a foggy blob. Malick's got two inspiring words and a healer's gift to help out.

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

"Typhus!" Ferdinand raises his rod and electrifies the poisonous mist before drawing his tratnyr and advancing on it.

Using Static Shock(vs Reflex, Lightning, and it's next attack deals 3 less damage), drawing my tratnyr and moving to I11 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 161d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Typhus looks up into the mass of pseudopods and cocks his head to the side. "Curiouser and curiouser," he mutters, then bursts into a riot of shadows that flit out of the pods and float gently to G3. Using Shadow Form: Assume a shadowy form for 5 minutes or until end of encounter. In this form, insubstantial, gain fly 6 and can’t take standard actions. Reverting is a minor action. Personal, minor action.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Rennik flashes into sight and sends a blast of color at the shadowy beast.

Color Spray - the four corners of the blast are L13, H13, H9, and L9. 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28 vs Will, 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 radiant damage, and on a hit the target is dazed until the end of my next turn. (Does dazed grant combat advantage? I can't remember.)

Move to O12.

If Typhus' attempt to extricate himself from his enveloped state failed for any reason, let me know. I would probably do something else.

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

Uh, I'm in that blast too when your turn comes up...

As Ferdinand moves forward he shoots a spark of lighting at the monster but his aim is wide and misses.

Unfazed by his predicament Typhus grins a wry smile as he transforms into a swirl of lavender mist that snakes out of the body of the creature to settle near Mountain.

Edit: changing this post AGAIN

Okay, still using color spray, as above, but the blast is going to be: J9, J13, N9, N13. As long as part of the beast is in the blast, it is effected. Rolls are in previous post.

Still move to O12.

Move to J8, flanking and thus CA from Ferdinand. Guarded attack vs Fog Monster, works similar to Riposte Strike.
Guarded Attack(Dagger) with CA, 1d20+18=22 vs Fog Monster AC, 2d4+9+3d8+4=5+9+9+4=27 damage.
I'm assuming 22 to hit AC is not enough, but if it is feel free to re-narate.
Flint coughs loudly as he's run over by the fog monster. He turns to see where the thing landed and approaches slowly and swings his dagger through what he thinks is the body of the monster, but with his lungs still burning from the poisonous inhalation, he fails to connect.
Also, assuming that's a miss, Flint will activate his Deathcut Leather Armor Daily power and gain resist 10 to all damage until the SOMNT.

Flint moves in again and his daggers flit through the monster severing more strands of mist as they pass.

Mountain roars, his body popping and sizzling in the poisonous vapor. A swift rush of movement brings him next to the creature, his mace swinging down in a vicious arc.

Move to I8, Crushing Blow, with a challenge if it's not marked yet. 30 vs AC, 18 damage

Mountain charges at the fog and sweeps his mace through it leaving a trail of wispy vapors in it’s wake.

"Less with the wafting, damn you."

Malick works his way back towards the fog monster and jabs at it ineffectually with his halberd from a safe distance.

Move to L7
Viper's Strike v Fog monster (1d20+16=21, 1d10+10=13). Don't think that's a hit by any means, but if it is and the monster shifts before the end of Malick's next turn, Mountain can hit it as a free action.

Malick rushes in to surround the creature but barely misses with his halberd.

Tentacles lash out at Mountain and Ferdinand ensnaring and dragging them into its poisonous smoke causing 10HP damage each.

Spoiler:
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30 Mountain

If that's poison damage, then only 5 damage thanks to my amulet. I;m not sure how to break a grab on my end, so just a basic d20. 1d20 ⇒ 6

It is poison damage.

Make an Acrobatics check vs. Reflex or an Athletics check vs. Fortitude against the creature or effect that immobilized you.

Success: You end the grab and can shift as part of
this move action.
Failure: You’re still grabbed.

Atheletics va fortatude looks to be the best at +7 to your roll.

6+7=13 is a falure, you are still grabed.

the effects of being grabed;
you grant combat advantage
you're immobilized
you can't be forced to move by a pull push or slide
you take a -2 penalty to attack rolls

You can still make an attack.

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

With that roll, either would fail. Thanks for posting the info, though.

I swear that wasn't there last time I checked.

Ferdinand desperately attempts to stab his tratnyr into the mist, electrifying it.

Aggravating Force (Lightning, next ally to attack gets +2 to attack) 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 181d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

I was probaly editing the post when you read it.

Ferdinand’s frantic stabbing fails to damage the creature but provides Typhus an opening for attack.
Typhus is up with a +2 to attack.

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

Uh, no bonus if it doesn't hit. Besides, it's to the next attack against it, not the next ally to act.

Typhus looks at the monstrosity and curses it, calling upon the Cold Star and the Light of Caiphon. He then points his rod toward the beast and uses the Flames of Phlegethos: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23 vs Reflex; 3d10 + 10 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 9, 1) + 10 + (2, 1) = 28 fire damage and 5 ongoing fire (save ends). Range 10, target 1 creature

I didn't include the +2 just in case. Please add on if needed.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

FYI - dazed does grant combat advantage, so the thing is granting it to everyone. Make sure you are factoring that into your attack rolls.

An inferno springs from Typhus’s hands burning of layers of the mist causing the beast to writhe in silent agony.

Ferdinand Salatic wrote:

Yes, poison damage.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Rennik sends an illusory bolt of energy at the shadow beast to wear it down and drive it away from his allies.

Phantom Bolt: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28 vs Will (includes bonus for combat advantage), 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 psychic damage on a hit, and on a hit I slide the beast one square to the south, hopefully leaving my allies behind.

Move to O7.

Rennick’s attempt free his companions fail as his illusion not only moves the monster but his comrades as well. On the bright side the fog monster is somewhat damaged by Rennik’s action.

Clever Strike (Dagger) maybe with CA, 1d20+18=36 vs Fog Monster AC, 1d4+9+3d8+4=4+9+13+4=30 damage. Shift to G11 using Tumble Encounter Power
Clever Strike gives Flint CA if an ally is adjacent to the target and is able to attack it. I'm not sure if Mountain or Ferdinand who are currently being consumed by the Fog Monster can pass this stipulation. If not then subtract 2 from the to hit and 13 from the damage.

[ooc] Mountain and Ferdinand can still attack so would give flanking bonus’, they also give CA to enemies. {/ooc]

Flint’s dagger glances off something small and crystalline as it passes through the fog causing the whole beast to shudder and fade in color. The monster is now bloodied.

Athletics vs. Fortitude to break free14

Ouch, fumble. Thus I guess I'll just smash the thing with my mace

23 to hit (forgot the penalty on the roll); 9 damage

Mountain growls and smashes at the creature, struggling weakly against its grip. "This is most infuriating."

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

If I push the fog monster, does the forced movement force it to drop Mountain and Ferdinand?

Mountain's flailing attempt to escape fails but manages to damage the creature nonetheless.

Effects that End a Grab: If you are affected by a condition that prevents you from taking opportunity actions (such as dazed, stunned, surprised, or unconscious), you immediately let go of a grabbed enemy.
If you move away from the creature you’re grabbing, you let go and the grab ends. If a pull, a push, or a slide moves you or the creature you’re grabbing out of your reach, the grab ends.

The creature has a reach of one so you would need to move it two squares to break it's grab on Mountain and Ferdinand, the same reason the power Rennik used failed to break the grab.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Malick raises a quizzical eyebrow and slams his halberd into the fog monster.

"Anyone need help in there? It's kind of hard to see."

Bloody Ending (AC) v Fog Monster. On hit allies gain +2 to attack rolls to end Malick's next turn (1d20+16=24, 2d10+13=31)

Alas no effect on a miss.
Move to M10.
Minor - inspiring word if anyone needs it. Who's most hurt inside foggy?

Mountain and Ferdinand both take 10HP poison damage for being inside the fog monster.

Unable to reach any others the monster turns its rage against the ones it already envelops. tentacles lash out and attach to Mountain turning reddish as they begin to suck out some of his lifeblood doing 17HP more damage.
1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30 vs. AC
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17 poison

Mountain 27Hp poison damage total

Inspiring Word goes to Mountain. Surge plus 10 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6) = 10 hp healed.

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

Athletics to break hold: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Runes that Ferdinand placed earlier on Mountain's armor flare to life as Ferdinand attempts to escape once again, his tratnyr once again electrifying the fog.

Resistive Formula on Mountain (+1 to AC, can end as minor action to get HS+6 temp HP, an ally of his choice within 5 squares gets them too), and using Magic Weapon. 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 371d8 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

Critical hit, deals 16 plus 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 Lightning damage.

Typhus steps to G6, seeming to fade from view (concealment). He then calls upon the Dreaded Star to curse his victim and calls upon the cold light of the stars to destroy his foe.

Frigid Darkness: +13 vs Fort; 2d8+8 cold damage and target grants combat advantage to all allied until end of my next turn plus -1 penalty to AC. Range 10, target 1 creature. (FEAR)

1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 vs FORT; 2d8 + 8 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 8 + (5, 6) = 27

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Rennik conjures an illusory assailant to distract and confound the creature.

Illusory Ambush 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18 vs Will. If Malick's earlier attack was successful, add 2 to that, and then add another 2 if Typhus' attack was successful. 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 psychic damage on a hit, and on a hit it takes -2 to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.

Bolstered by a pep talk Mountain recovers slightly from the monsters onslaught, he is further boosted by the runes placed by the artificer for just such an occasion.
Mountain +36HP (healing surge +10) and +1 to AC or HS+6tempHP

Ferdinand thrusts his tratnyr overhead and electrifies the whole cloud burning off the outer layer with an odor of ozone.

Typhus hides in plain sight as he calls down the coldness of space to freeze part of the monsters fog to ice that tinkles to ground.

Rennik attempts to fool the creature again with one of his illusions but fails to make it believe it is real.

Move to I11. Compel the Craven, 1d20+16=18 vs Fog Monster Will, 2d4+9=5+9=14 damage and the target moves away from you a number of squares equal to your Charisma modifier (+4), avoiding unsafe squares and difficult terrain if it can.
This power specifies that the target moves, not a push, so I'm hoping this frees Mountain and Ferdinand as well as draws a few OA's. I'm not sure if Flint or the DM decides the movement but, Flint would like to draw as many OA's as possible. All this of course is dependent upon the attack hitting.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Just to note, in case anyone is planning to use an AP, this is useful.

Allies who can see and hear Malick and spend an AP to attack get +8 damage bonus to their next attack. If attack does not hit, ally gets +8 temp hp instead. (half level + Int mod + feat bonus).
