How well does 3.5 really convert to Pathfinder?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I've been reading up on Pathfinder and it got me wondering. How well will my favorite 3.5 characters convert to this system. I have a few characters that that use classes that i don't believe are covered in the Pathfinder book.

Some of the classes i have used are:
Favored Soul
Geomancer
Frenzied Berserker
Psion
Mystic Thurge
Ect.

These are just some of the classes i have used, and only ones published by WotC. There are 1 or 2 PrC that i have used from 3rd party books before.

Any way, I already ask the question.

Will i be able to play a character with these classes in a pathfinder game, and if so, will i still get the same feel from the class as i got in 3.5?

I don't know about the rest but Mystic Theurge is actually in the book.

I believe they all would convert well and you should be able to have just as much (if not more) fun playing your favorite classes as you did in 3.5.

I leave it to the board members more familiar with the other classes you listed to give you a more detailed answer.

Favored Soul - Add a Sorcerer Bloodline to him/her, Replace duplicate powers with Bonus Feats from their Bloodline List. (ex: Celestial Bloodline - Resists & Wings)

Frenzied Berserker - Will work differently due to Rage & Feat changes, but should get a nice boost from the NEW Barbarian Rage Powers.

Mystic Theurge - Is in PFCORE pg. 387, I believe he has stayed the same, but you'd likely know better than I.

I don't know about the other 2 mentioned.

In my RotRL campaign the players use following 3.5 classes:

Favoured Soul
Beguilder
Binder
Duskblade

All of them work fine as they are.

Thanks for the input.

Sovereign Court

I converted favoured soul over pretty easy for my game - can't say on the others in practice but it is very simple overall.

This idea of Backwards compatability really relates to rule differences, however I note that james jacobs has pointed out a few times the reason the core classes got the rebuilds is because the newer splat books had quite a bit of power creep. Further as a DM I'm not allowing any conversion or revision of any of the 3.5 classes unless PF officially does so.

This is because nearly EVERY class from the Complete Books, TOB etc work justy fine against PF and don't need any revision to work (barring minor rules tweaks)
We regularly run
Warmage
Crusader
Warblade
Beguiler

and have had
Scouts
Duskblade
Favored Soul

NONE of them seem to suffer in PF.
