[CRB Error] Intimidating Prowess feat

P128, Intimidating Prowess feat: "Add your Strength modifier..."

This should read

"Add your Strength bonus, if any..."

Consider if the character is under an effect, like the 'Ray of Enfeeblement' spell, that reduces his Strength below 10, which gives a penalty to Strength. This would imply that this feat will actually LOWER the Intimidate Skill!

I doubt that this was the intended use for this Feat...

I don't know if it's intentional, but it's certainly defensible. If you get used to throwing your weight around, then find that that weight isn't there to throw...

This would violate my "if you can do it at 1st level you can do it now" meta-houserule, though; if someone's strength score goes down the hole, I would just let them not use the feat.

Really?

How many feats have you encountered that will apply a penalty to your character (without giving you any bonuses in exchange)?

In any case, using the fix I proposed will automatically 'disable' this feat when the STR goes below 10.

Defensible more from the point of view of genre convention than game-design convention. If someone is big, tough and scary, then they lose all that strength, they suddenly aren't scary at all (even less so than, say, the nasty halfling who's always been that weak).

You don't have to loose "All Strength"... For instance:

A Character with 12 Strength (+1 bonus) that looses 3 points of STR, goes to 9 (-1 penalty). I don't think this will be very apparent.. A Character that looses Strength does not "deflate" like a balloon !! (although that would be funny to see, I'll admit)

In any case, I rest my case.

Actually, based on the wording, I'm pretty sure having a negative Strength modifier together with this feat would lower your intimidate skill.

The solution for most players is, don't take this feat if you plan on having a low Strength score (:

Feats don't do that. Flaws do.

And think "Ray of Enfeeblement"....

Weapon Finesse lets you use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls with certain weapons. If you have a -5 Dexterity modifier and a +10 Strength modifier, you can still choose to use your Dexterity modifier -- there's nothing stopping you from taking an intentionally bad choice.
