Question to the men and women of Paizo.
Is there going to be a re-release of the previous Adventure Paths??
I can no longer find print versions of the Rise of the Runelords.
Is this due to no more releases or is there going to be a version 2.0 of all the previous Adventure Paths that were created before the Pathfinder RPG was released??

Personally I would like to see a large bound volume containing all of the adventures of an AP. Similar to the Shackled City AP bound book.
**EDIT** Updated to Pathfinder of course :)

Print versions still exist for Rise of the Runelords, they're just difficult to find. In fact I just finally managed to get my hands on #3 thanks to the Compleat Strategist.

A hardbound collection would be awesome. Don't really expect to see them though.
What a fantastic idea! I would love to have RotRL in PF RPG format... (although it doesn't take a lot of effort to convert stuff yourself). Still, it would be nice, but I'm a realist, too, and it's very unlikely to ever happen (unless maybe after the current printing of RotRL sells out?).

We have no plans at this time to reprint or repackage Rise of the Runelords. Personally, I think that it's too soon to think about doing something like this. It's a good idea and just as we saw Wizards of the Coast republish adventures after a period of time had passed, and just as we did the same with Shackled City, I think that EVENTUALLY some sort of "Rise of the Runelords: Special Edition" or something like that will happen. But not anytime soon.

so would that mean that it would all be compiled in one book containing just #1-6, or would it also include the background/articles of the cities pertaing to RoTR? that is if it were to happen...

It doesn't really mean anything yet, to be honest. Just that the industry has a history of re-releasing popular and classic adventures from the past, and I suspect that since Paizo's already done this once with Shackled City, we'll do it again. The circumstances that made the Shackled City a hardcover necessity, though, are not as present yet for Rise of the Runelords.

I'm glad I bought the books I was missing from RotRL when I did (last year). The group I'm running through it are still only up to the second issue.
Are the PDFs still available for it?
IMarv
Yup; the PDF versions are still available, and we have no plans to ever "retire" PDFs from circulation.

Was mulling over this very question myself...
I'm guessing that it won't be too long before someone far smarter than me will either post PFRPG conversions of the previously released AP's or at the very least creature/NPC conversions.
Will fill the void nicely until the revamped AP's see the light of day.

A re-release would be nice when the time comes, but I have always believed that some modules should remain as they were and become legendary. The various re-releases or variants of some of D&Ds classics have kind of ruined them in my opinion. It robs them of their nostalgia. I think every edition or game system should have modules that are legacy of that era only or system only and just leave it at that.
However updating pre-Pathfinder RPG era modules would be the exception to my belief as they weren't done by Paizo and not WotC for 3e. Paizo updating their modules to their own system is only logical and something I'd like to see but as mentioned maybe just as compiled books. At the same time though I'd hope any iconic Pathfinder modules would stay unchanged going forward when Paizo does a new edition.

So glad this thread already exists, saves me having to formulate my idea.
I've played classic D&D for years and have recently picked up the PFRPG system. I'm loving what I'm seeing, but am finding the learning curve to get into the products pretty steep. Different vocabulary, multiple product lines, some of it falls inside of the PF core rules - some outside (I realize this was unavoidable based on the evolution of the business), and a dense amount of proprietary jargon.
I'd like to submit my emphatic "boo ya" for cohesive "bundled" adventure paths once they've been completed (obviously doing so while they're being authored is useless). I would love to be able to purchase (either online or retail) one big box of awesomeness that has all 6 installments of the AP updated to the current rules system (possibly with other swag such as Player's Guide and decks/maps) - this would be a considerably valuable product to this somewhat lazy DM/player who would rather spend the money to get it all in one easy-to-use package then have to track down all the different components. It also allows easier evaluation of an entire adventure path for someone considering running - something that has been frustrating for me to discover without diving into online forums and the community (which I don't think most consumers would do).
I realize in the past re-releasing existing content has been an issue in RPG products - I was never a fan of it. But if it was done as an update in a cost-effective manner (all the content exists, no?) and released at a discount to avoid the "blatant money-grab" stigma, I think this would be a truly viable product.
I'm curious to hear from some of the PF folks - why was this done with Shackled City but not with the current product lines?

I think the two main concern is the difference between book and magazine subscription. Books can be re-ordered (and normally are) Magazines have a one month window to order from distributors.
Also, the company relies on monthly income to survive. If x percent of subscribers (or those who buy monthly from amazon/FLGS) stopped buying until a bundled version came out 6 months later, it would bankrupt the company.

But I am such a collecting fiend that I would want both the original adventure paths as they came out AND the "collector's set." And I imagine there are others like me too! (Sadly for our finances but great for Paizo!!)

Will the older pathfinder APs be updated to reflect the core rule now out?
They already do.... I'm running Curse of the Crimson Throne, the difference is calculating CMB/CMD, and add some feats/abilities all in all it might be an extra 1/2 hour to 45 minutes per adventure path book to prepare. This only was neede after I got a group of 6 instead of 4... at 4 all I converted was the CMB/CMD

I frequently check the stock levels of our book trade distributor, Diamond. They sell to Barnes & Noble, independent booksellers, Amazon, Borders, etc. Basically everyone except for the game stores.
Because their product can be returned, stores often send back copies of books that don't sell for whatever reason. Sometimes these books make it through the cycle numerous times, provided they are still in excellent condition. Other times, the distributor orders a bit too many of a given title, and they can sit in their warehouse for months, or even years.
Diamond has double digits of just about every Rise of the Runelords volume we published. Their supply--though extremely limited--in some cases exceeds our own.
What I'm saying is that if you're desperate to get a physical copy of one of these products, you may want to try ordering from your local bookstore. They very well may be able to get you a copy via special order.
Of course, if you absolutely must have it today, there's always the PDF, which we will have in perpetuity right here on paizo.com!
