CNN's important ongoing coverage just confirmed, all famous people who passed away this year... still dead.
Whew!
(puts his 'zombie' rake back in the shed)
Where would I be wthout the constant reminders?
24 hour news channels are an abomination. The amount of news is finite. There is not enough news to sustain 24 hour programming. The news channel's director of programming wants to keep his job. Ratings need to be maintained. So what is the solution? Create news. Sensationalize news! Every headline is the "Worst Event since the last Worst Event."
Instead of reporting facts words like ...surge....skyrocket...plummet..... slither their way into the vocabulary of the newscasters. Our media is a disgusting mob of town criers masquerading as professional bearers of the news. Events are blown out of proportion. Any problem has to be labeled as a crisis complete with a fancy logo depicting Jesus weeping. If so much as one person gets a cold in an asian country, the mandatory pictures of people wearing surgical masks start appearing. Some expert, I never heard of, has to tell me that he projects everyone is going to die and then uses statistical evidence from the Black Death in the 1300s to support his argument. If the stock market drops points.... in media words - sent spirialing into the black abyss of failure and economic collapse..... the mandatory pictures of the one broker with a headache rubbing his temples is splashed across the screen.
we are a society craving sound bytes. We're too lazy or consumed to learn the issues for ourselves so we have to rely on biased people to consume the information and regurgitate that information hacked up into their own phlegmy agenda.
5 years ago every expert was paraded across the television to tell you that class six death hurricanes were going to be the norm and ground the civilized world into a melted mush of hail, rain, and discarded buildings in the next succession of years. I think we've had three named storms this year.
2 years ago every expert was on tv telling you that gas prices were surging, rocketing, roller coastering their way to 7 dollars a gallon.
Increased demand in India and China is the sacrifical lamb to blame for everything.
then I love when the media chants recession...recession... recession.... what happens when the media constantly says there is going to be a recession? People say, "geesh probably should save some money...recession coming." and then we create a recession. Fantastic.
Cast down the supposed experts!

Stuff...
I absolutely agree. It's a passion play mummered by fools given far too much respect for their position and their agenda. They truly do invent the news when what's out there isn't ratings-juicy enough.
AND WHAT SELLS LIKE A FORCE FIDDY TYRANNOQUAKE THAT could TAKE OUT THE EASTERN SEABOARD! WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!

Actualy there is 24 hours of news out there but it means drawing it in from every nation in the world and translating it to english within ten minutes of getting it.
I recall news about some farmers in the Ukraine or somewhere telling their reporters of a Flying saucer that went down in the valley behind the mountains that overlook their village. You dont think that crap happens outside the USA or other places where they mix marijuana seeds in their homebrew whiskey...but there you go.
