Has anyone converted the Dragonborn as they appear in 4e? How about The Apelord?

Seeing as I spent an honest 5 minutes looking at the rules for 4e, before I got disgusted with the new TWF, no sorry have not.

Lantern Lodge

@ Sir Hexen: Was that hit and run really necessary?

@ Sketchpad: I'm not familiar with 4E Dragonborn, but I love the minis, and have been collecting them in the hope of using a Draconic race in my own games.

Tome of Secrets provides a new player race: Saurian. I can't say how similar or different Saurians might be from 4E Dragonborn, but I think they'd make a good substitute race.

For stats in 4th Ed they get:

+2 to Str and Cha (no penalties in 4th)
+1 to attack when "bloodied"
Get to add their Con bonus to the HP they get back from their "healing surges"
They also get an encounter based breath weapon attack.

In general they are one of the things I usually immediately point out as hating in the game. Of course you're talking to a player who likes Halflings, and feels they got the shaft in 4th, so I'm bitter.

Dragonborn are actually one of the things I liked about 4e.

I haven't cracked my Races of the Dragon for a long time, but it seems the 'reborn' dragon race might be an option.

Sorry that actually was not meant as a hit and run. Sorry if it was.

Seeing as I didn't spend much time looking at the rules was in a way discrediting myself equally, so sorry.

I noticed that he had not gotten any posts, so I was trying to passively bump it for them really. I know how it feels.

Scarab Sages

Hmm, maybe you could tweak the current half-orcs. Make the bonuses +2 Str, +2 Cha, and maybe -2 Wis (proud?). Kill Orc Blood and make em Draconic. Just call Orc Ferocity "Dragonborn Ferocity." The flavor fits well enough. Weapon Familiarity should be with Spear, Longspear, Trident, and Lance. Maybe treat Double Swords as martial? Also, starting languages Common and Draconic. That should do it.

Scarab Sages

Whoops, missed breath weapon. On second thought, drop weapon familiarity and replace it with a spell-like ability. Dragonborn Breath Weapon: Functions as burning hands, and can be used, I dunno, maybe Cha or Str mod times /day? Whichever is higher. And dragonborn choose the energy type at creation: cold, fire, electric, or acid.

Stupid forum ate my post...

I've used the Dragonkin from Monsters of Faerun as my enigmatic elder race since the book came out. I gave them +2 to Str and Cha and a -2 to Dex and was amused when the Dragonborn came out with similar stats. I didn't give them a breath weapon but I suppose you could have that be a racial feat that can be used Cha mod + X times per day. I as trying to keep them as a non-ECL race to male my life easier.

I wish someone would do up a good conversion of the Apelord. For my brief foray into 4E I played one and it was awesome. We've switched to Pathfinder but I'd love to have a well done conversion of the Apelord to Pathfinder. Anyone? Bueller??
