Parthfinder Chronicles questions

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Scarab Sages

My group is starting the Council of Thieves chronicles, and as this is our first foray into pathfinder rpg and paizo, we ran into two questions really early on.

1) How many characters are these adventures designed for?

2) We are using the option to purchase abilities rather then randomly rolling. How many points should we use if we will be exclusively using these adventures? We figured if we used high fantasy and the adventures were designed with a different stat buy in mind, we would overpower the encounters.

Thanks!

1) The APs are balanced for four characters, though it is quite easy to adjust and tweak for however many you have (I'm running Crimson Throne with 5).

2) This seems to be more of a matter of taste than anything. Take a look at the sample characters at the back of the first AP chapter, and you'll be able to figure out what they used for that build. I know folks have used all different levels and succeeded and failed in equal amounts :) Also, the GM should take a look and make his own judgement, based on player knowledge and preferences.

Hope that helps!

What GG said. For myself, I've had players use the "High Fantasy" point #.

Is it too late to correct the thread name to "Pathfinder"? Parth makes me think of ancient Parthia...and I hope you don't think I'm picking on you, but also you seem to be talking about the Pathfinder Adventure Path, not the Pathfinder Chronicles, which are the GM support materials for the setting.
