Just got the following email:

We have updated the PDF of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook.

The bookmarks have been updated to be more useful, and broken hyperlinks have been repaired. Page 548 is now placed correctly in the Single-File version. The One-File-per-Chapter version now contains the cover. Other minor typographic errors have also been corrected.

To verify the version you have:
In the One-File-per-Chapter version: if the cover is present, you already have the updated version.
In the Single-File version: if the first bookmark listed is "Cover," you already have the updated version.

If you wish to download the updated version, you may do so for free at http://paizo.com/paizo/account/assets. (If the file shows that it has already been personalized, you'll need to repersonalize it before you can download the new version.)

I checked a couple links that weren't working before and they now are, so that's good. However, one that I noted before in the forums still isn't fixed.

In the "Soulbind" spell entry, all the spells in the body of the description are hyperlinked except for Reincarnation, which is still unlinked.

I'm certain this isn't the only copyedit that got missed, so I was thinking this would be a useful spot for everyone to list the other items still needing fixing, so the next version of the PDF can be fully linked.

Thanks,

Kevin

The Developer Notes bookmarks led to nothing in the last version of the PDF but they seemed to have disappeared completely in this version. No bookmarks, no notes. I'm rather disappointed, I was looking forward to reading those.

The Developer Notes bookmarks were no doubt remnants from the Beta files. The Beta had lots of Developer Notes in it, but the Core Rulebook does not.

It would be very interesting to have Jason write up a "Director's Commentary" style behind the scenes Development Notes for the final rulebook, but that's a project for another--possibly imaginary--day.

There should be an edition where the pages are laid out to look like the Talmud.

This isn't the final rulebook?

I think he's talking about doing a PDF of behind-the-scenes-documentary-style on the final rulebook. Behind The Game(tm)

Given the difficulty of doing all those links, I didn't have the heart to point out that almost all of the page numbers in the filenames of the multi-part version are wrong.

p. 53 under animal companions, Animal Feats, there's no listing for Weapon Finesse, even though it's in the print version. This was wrong in the previous version of the PDF also (single file - I haven't downloaded the 1 file per chapter version to check.)

An improvement if you can: add in bookmarks to the first page with spells starting with A, first page with spells starting with B, and so on ... to make it easier to find a spell description.

We actually know that they're wrong, but people were demanding an updated version oft he PDF immediately. Changing the filenames causes havoc with the links, so we had to weigh getting out the new PDF against having accurate page numbers in the PDF titles.

The PDF titles will eventually get fixed, but this will have to wait until the offices aren't on fire :)
