OK, I finally quit yesterday. After months of being persecuted in my low-paying job, I was written up and put on probo over some trumped-up you-know-what, and I finally walked out. If you are unemployed also (your job disappeared, you disappeared, you got fired/downsized/smartsized/rightsized, reduced, disintegrated, worsteconomyevered, whatevered),

drop it here--rants about bosses, interview horror stories, fears about making ends meet, advice for fellow travelers, hopes and prospects, supportive words for others here. We're all in the same boat, we're all supporting each other, and we're all trying to figure out a way to make a decent, honest living and get by in a world that seems crazier by the day.

I wish you all the luck in the world on your future job hunt. I was fired from my job back at the end of January and still haven't been able to get a new job. This has been one of the most stressful and frustrating times of my life. I have been on countless interviews by this point and most of them I know I interviewed well and should have gotten the job. Still, I sit here and have to continue searching for work. Its pretty bad when you can't get a job in the fast food industry even... I've worked retail and customer service since I was 16, I have NEVER before this had a problem finding a job within a couple of weeks. I really want to work. I hate having nothing to do all day long. It makes me feel like a total bum living off the charity of my family and friends every single day. The only upside to all of this is that I have lost weight, which I have been needing to do for a long time. Sorry for the long rant, just been pent up for a while...

I haven't lost my job, but I think my bosses are trying to make it so. Jerks.

Best wishes to all.

I'm no longer unemployed but I wanted you all to know you have my sympathy. I lost my job in January and spent six months without so much as a nibble on my application and resume. I finally obtained an interview in June and was offered a job that I started in July. This is the tightest job market I've ever seen.

Stick with it and don't lose hope, you are not alone.
