Psychicmachinery, I should also add if you're playing Pathfinder as a setting, download the Traits enhancement (it should be a free download on your Downloads page). This will give the character two free "traits" at first level, which are the equivalent of a bonus feat. All PCs get these traits in the PF campaign world.

I'm a total N00b as well. Following up on this question, when does a character get additional feats? And can you point me to the page(s) that answer this? I can't seem to find it in the rule book. Is there a table somewhere?
Page 30 on Table 3-1: Character Advancement and Level Dependent bonuses.

In Chapter 3 (Classes) on page 30 there is a table showing when feats should be assigned in Table 3-1: Character Advancement and Level Dependent Bonuses. For a player new to the system the location makes sense. Unfortunately this was not listed in the Index.

David Fryer wrote:Fighters get two feats.Yeah, but the extra feat is listed in their class features. I think these guys just couldn't find table 3-1 initially.
Maybe the table was made of glass... so like you couldn't see it? That could be true.. like those bird who fly into windows?

Actually reading the book works great, it has all sorts of information on how to make characters, choosing attributes/feats/skills/spells, what you might face, how to fight it, and how to play the game.
It's much easier when you do.
