Yep I have one.

Aren't Paizo customers the best? Maybe they have a good rolemodel somewhere?

And this was fantastic too.

You guys are great.

I wouldn't mind a gift certificate system though. I run email games, and play with people all over the world at times. There are a few people who have become regulars and knowing some details about their personal life... I know they don't have money. I wouldn't mind buy them pdfs... but how do you do that? No system in place right now. I'd rather not buy them a visa gift card or money order or something I'd want to buy them the item. But oh well.

I agree. A gift certificate system would be great. I have some players who would really appreciate that feature. And some former players who live on the other side of the country now.

virtual rum n cokes to BenS and damnitall!

Great work gentlepersons! :D

It would make running cross country things alot easier.

I finally got cookies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Chomp Chomp)

It seems that being a father has had an effect on me. The thing that popped in my head was Cookie Monsters "C is for Cookie".

And that's good enough for me. :D

Ah, I see I'm not the only one. Good to know.

Seeing how I sort of owe one to the community (at least the artists around here - although it was a different gift I had in mind then), I'd like to extend a similar offer as damnitall22 did, in the spirit of BenS' generous gift.
So, I'd like to put up two pdf purchases for those in need of the book.
That means that you can't have the physical book already (or on the way), that would be cheating.
This is for those who can't afford either at the moment.
I'll give it until when I get home Tuesday (which should be around 8 a.m. EST/2 p.m. CET) and then do a raffle if enough has come forward.

I also wish there was a gift certificate available to handle stuff like this, hopefully it'll be forthcoming eventually. I guess the easiest way to do it is through paypal transfers.

I think the whole idea of gift certificates has been on Paizo's to-do list for a while, but I'm not sure when they'll get around to it. It is a great idea.

And thanks for picking up on the spirit of this thread. I seem to have created something that's taken on a life of its own.

Paizo, if you're reading this, I hereby pledge to give out 2 $50 gift certificates to select fans once you've implemented gift certificates.

The following is for Paizo eyes only; don't look everyone else!!!

Spoiler:
Give me a print version of Downer Volume 2 and I'll make it 10 $50 gift certificates!

Liberty's Edge

Hmmmm,

Ok New Zealand doesn't want to feel left out in the caring and sharing. I'll also put up 2 copies of the PDF for persons unable to afford the Pathfinder RPG. Wish it could more and I'm going to feel stink having to randomly pick only 2 people.

I'll wait until GentleGiant has chosen his 2 people so there isn't any confusion.

Times are not the best and it is so cool that this community is pulling together so all can play elves and goblins!

It'll also have to be a PayPal transfer, unless Gift Certs are available very, very soon (you listening Paizo).

S.

PS: BenS you have started something wonderful - charity and goodwill!

Just a friendly bum... err, reminder for those interested and "qualified" for the giveaway.

We are working on it. Hopefully in time for Christmas this year.

So, the "deadline" has come and gone again. Maybe this thread is sequestered in a not so populated area of the boards and that's why no one has stepped forward yet.
I'll set up a new deadline of... this Thursday noon pacific time, 3 p.m. EST and 9 p.m. CET (those should amount to the same time overall).
Maybe I'll even think about proclaiming the giveaway on some of the other areas of the messageboard.

them, and can't afford them, just let me know.

Just a friendly bump so the thread doesn't get lost.

I think it's great what you guys are doing. I bought an extra copy with my GM credit at GenCon for a friend. He actually could afford the book, but he seems to be jinxed in that every game system he buys we never play. So I told him I'd buy Pathfinder for him. I need to pick up a copy for my girlfriend now and I'm leaning toward buying Pathfinder to give away as a door prize at a local convention next month I'm coordinating for, but might offer the Bestiary instead. Who knows maybe I'll offer both. We'll just have to wait and see. Keep up the great work guys and may your dice roll only 20s!

These boards never cease to amaze me! I can't join in on it at this time, but kudos to you generous souls!

Sovereign Court

Sorry if i missed this.

I'd also like to buy someone a .pdf. How should I handle this? What is the proper way to handle this as a gift? Would I just give him my .pdf with my email watermarked on it, or is there a way to "buy as gift?" Sorry if this has been already covered?

Customer service is well-practiced at making this happen. All you need to is find the recipient and send CS an e-mail.

No "gifts" yet, but Lisa said she is working on it.

I was wondering if we don't start a more obviously named thread where all of those wishing to donate a .pdf can coordinate? I think we must be up to around 6-8 copies on offer so far.

Cheers,
S.

Probably a good idea.

Sovereign Court

?Okay, perfect. I'll email CS with the details. Thanks.

Sorry for missing out on my own deadline (although no one has stepped forward to claim the pdfs either). A HUGE family gathering (like around 170 people!) took charge of the latter part of the week.
If no one else has posted a new thread about this by tomorrow I'll try to get around to do it (haven't had time to search for another thread). Got to have some more exposure to such a great thread of generosity!
I'll probably post it in the General Discussion forum.

Just wanted to say the generosity on the paizo boards is inspiring. Makes me proud to be a paizo fan.

I'd be happy to be the recipient of such a pdf document. I think I assumed that it would be taken.

Best regards,

Rubia

still need one I will pay for one for you.

Wow that was really cool of you BenS, and to all of you willing to buy PDFs for those who can't afford them, that's just cool. Also, if anyone is still willing to give PDFs to people who can't afford them, I have a friend who's been wanting to get into roleplaying for a long time, but his family isn't exactly up there on money (most of the clothes he's worn throughout his life have been hand-me-downs). If any of you would be willing to purchase a PDF for that fellow, you can get me a copy and I'll give it to him. That's if there are any open offers for a PDF though.

Can I get your e-mail or something to get the PDF to you? I think

Paizo has done this before, so, there should not be a problem.

sure, it's Legacyblade@gmail.com

I really appreciate this :)

No, problem. I am going to get in connect with Customer Service and try to set it up if push comes to shove I will just send the money for it,

Thank you, this will really help me and my friend out. I got your e-mail and responded. Since you're paying for this, just do whatever is most convenient for you. And thank you again, this is very generous of you.

I got it, and I can't wait to give it to my friend. He has a much better mind than me for numbers, so you may have lent the money to spawn the best min/maxer in the history of tabletop RPGs, lol. Thanks again.
