Core PDF problems

Product Discussion

I was wondering if anyone has the same problems I have found with the core book?

Character class bookmarks: several seem to point to incorrect pages.. only the cleric and barbarian seem to be right

There is also a dead link to "Designer's Note:Starting Hit Points" but I have not been able to find anything in rules for starting hit points..

I feel I should state that the bookmarks are not nested as they should be, and are set to be fully expanded when the document is opened (very annoying - AND WHAT IS WITH THE CAPS??)

Now I looked in the "456.pdf" bookmark for all the answers, but it turned out to be about magic items instead....

I'm hoping that my copy of the PDF is corrupt..

If that is not the case, please tell me that there is a plan to fix these errors and that an updated version will be released (an ETA would be nice).

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32

I have the same problem. Also the Druid is missing though 1-2 of his bookmarks are still there pointing to the wrong pages.

Also just noticed pg. 548 follows pg. 552 for some reason.

We'll be fixing the PDF, but it'll happen when everyone gets back from Gen Con. We'll send everyone an email when we do it.

That was the response I was looking for, Thank you.

I will say that it looks really good for the most part. I can't wait to get my hard copy.

Dark Archive

I would also like to add (if it is possible) can something be done to sync up the pages of the .pdf to the actual pages? As it is, the page counter (in the viewer tool bar) is always one higher than the page number of the actual page currently being viewed.

I know it only requires a minor effort to mentally add one to page number before typing it into the tool bar but still...

Great job to everyone at Paizo! Thank you for a fantastic product! I am eagerly awaiting my print copy!

Cheers

I might add that in the 1 chapter/file zip, ch 13 is missing

Scarab Sages

I would like to know does the Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook take precedence over the Pathfinder Campaign Setting Rules? I ask because Humans listed in that book could chose a martial weapon for free. This human trait was also listed in the beta version rules as well. I like all of the effort that was put into that single book. Thank you

Also, the Core PDF crashes Preview, the default PDF reader in Mac OS X - at least Preview 3.0.9, the one supplied with OS X 10.4.11. It's strange, because all other PDFs are read correctly, and Acrobat Reader can open them without any trouble (save the glitchs already mentioned in this thread).

I just repersonalized the Core one file per chapter and got chapter 13. Just saying.

EDIT: Ramses, yes Core takes percedence. Unless you want to run your game differently.

Many thanks, once again Paizo service to its customers is second to none.

In the PDF I also have a small problem seeing capital As... as they are not there. The skills (examples) are named " CROB TICS" and " PPR ISE"... Is it a common problem that will be fixed or just me and my?

Are you using linux? I had this problem with all Paizo pdf's until i upgraded from ubuntu 8.10 to 9.4

If you are using Foxit Reader, and are at Version 2.2, upgrade to V2.3

The Chapter by File PDF is missing the Environment section, FYI!

Download the latest copy 140+MB and it is there.

I want to thank silverhair2008 for answering my question that I posted this past Saturday afternoon.

Is there a way to know when the PDFs are / have been updated ?

It would be a bit bothersome to re-download them each time I visit the paizo site just in case an update has been made.

Usually they send an email when something you own has been updated.

Apparently, they haven't in this case. I do not blame Paizo, mind you. I guess things must be pretty hectic. However, putting a "latest update" date and time somewhere should not be that difficult and would help immensely.

We will send you an email. We didn't when we added the missing chapter because the servers were already on fire.

Depends upon the GM...

Core usually takes precedence, but of the GM allows it, that is fine.
