Traits Question

Rules Questions

I am at work and this just hit me so bear with me. While thumbing/drooling over my core book the other night I didn't notice any sections on traits.
Am I wrong or did they just decide to do away with it in the core rulebook? I saw the updated traits in the resources today which triggered this question.

Traits were never in the Pathfinder Alpha or Beta ("core") rules. It's a separate "non-core" rules system that they provide.

There is no section on traits in the core rulebook, but the traits document has been updated for Pathfinder rules, and there are traits in both the Cheliax book and the Council of Thieves Players Guide. Looks like traits are more a 'Golarion' option than a 'Pathfinder' option, is all.

I believe traits are an add-on rule for people using Golarion and the Adventure Paths to add some flavor to the campaign. They aren't part of the core Pathfinder RPG rules.

Thanks a ton. I had seen the traits in all of the other pathfinder books and just assumed that it would make the transition into the core.

I first saw them in the APG, but there were a couple 'broken' ones (don't recall the names, but one allowed for a save reroll once daily, the other affected metamagic by one level...).

The Ultimate Campaign book has traits also, and from what I can tell, aren't broken. I allow those in my game.

I do now. Thought I had sorted by date (recent to oldest)... ah well. :D

Don't worry, I've made the same mistake. Always got to remember to look at the dates.

I figured he was going for a thread necromancy record. Seems to be a competition hereabouts on that.

In support of Traits, several GMs I know have tailored or altered published ones to add flavor to their games. The game I currently play in has a short list that bring aspects of her campaign to the fore. My Elf had the Fey Trait, a weak version of the Fey Elf Feat that I traded for later. I then picked up a trait called Fey Avenger in its place.

I know it's out of left field, but this seems a good place to drop this.
