Hello all! I'm new to the paizo world! I'd like to know what is the best way to get started, I own none of the products. My friends and I have been playing through a 4th edition d&d campaign and we pretty much can't stand it. We have been talking about going back to 3.5 or starting a completely different RPG. I stumbled upon paizo read the FAQ and now I'm pretty fired up about the new game coming out. I'd like to get in now though. I also need to get my group excited about the game so I'd like to purchase something to show them.
Also noticed that board games are sold through this site, could someone please recommend a family friendly board game that can be played through in a couple hours.

If you want to get them excited about the quality of Paizo products before you dig in, I would suggest looking at either one of the modules or starting off an adventure path with the 'Howl of the Carrion King'. If you want to introduce them to the mechanics, try the Beta version of PFRPG. Let them know that these rules will be updated in August.

It depends what you're looking for. I'd recommend downloading the Beta, the Players guides and the free RPG stuff (D0, D1.5 and the Bonus Bestiary). That will give you a very good idea for things without costing you a penny.
Otherwise the Gazeteer is a good place to start. The Campaign Setting is better, but more expensive. Do not get both as the Campaign Setting is Gazeteer plus.
Or, if you're more interested in adventures, grab a couple of Pathfinder Society modules for whatever level you like and run your players through them. Each is a convention module, so they're designed to be one session quick plays.

Welcome zafthan!
I guess a good way to suggest something to get your fellow gamers excited would be to find out what types of things they're into? What are their favorite types of adventures, settings, etc? Are they fans of horror themed adventures, desert adventures, short one-off adventures or longer campaigns? Whatever their preference, Paizo has something to offer, so just let us know what you think would really grab your friends and those of us more familiar with Paizo's products can suggest something.

Welcome, zaf'!
My friends and I have been playing through a 4th edition d&d campaign and we pretty much can't stand it.
May I congratulate you on your impeccable taste?
Don't answer that question, it was rhetorical, I'll do it either way:
Congratulations on your impeccable taste!
Follow the trail of bread crumbs the others have left for you. The free adventures give you a taste of Pathfinder Modules/Adventure Path quality. Which is top notch.
Read a bit through the blog, it contains lots of information and artwork.
Get the free player's guides you download to give you a general impression what the first two adventure paths were about.
And most of all, get the beta PDF! Read a bit through it, especially the races and classes section as well as the skill section.
Then read the previews on the blog. Realise that as great as the beta is, the final book promises to be even better.
Then notice that if you want to check out the final book before committing to a 50 bucks book, the PDF will cost 9.99. Dollars. Not gold bars or anything. Not platinum pieces. Frikkin' 10 bucks. That's core book pricing!
