I guess only the Paizo staff or the lucky bastards who already have the book can answer this :
In the final Pathfinder RPG book, will there be a page, a list of the alpha and beta testers ? Or a generic thankyou ?
I suspect it'll be the latter. They've had at least a few thousand downloads of the Beta being extremely conservative. It's probably well over 10,000. They could list all those names, but that would take pages away from cool RPG content! What would you rather have, your name printed in a book that no-one will read (like the fan club credits for the LotR movies) or a generic thank you and an extra 10 pages of rulebook? :)
I know what I want!

We had tens of thousands of playtesters.
There are generally about 53 lines of text on a page.
Even if we do a super dense font and get up to 75 lines per page, and do a 4 column format to get 300 names on a page... and assuming we list everyone who downloaded the PDF, that'd be about 166 pages of text. Not feasible.
As a result, we have a special thanks on the credit page that reads like this:
"This game would not be possible without the passion and dedication of the thousands of gamers who helped playtest and develop it. Thank you for all of your time and effort."

We topped 50,000 unique downloaders a while ago.
And you know, even if we *could* fit in those names, privacy concerns would prevent us from automatically doing so, and the thought of asking 50,000 people whether (or how) they would like their name to appear is not one we'd relish.
I'd like my name on the cover, just under the title, in 20 point times new roman font, with a picture of my avatar next to it.
Okay, now you only have 49,999 other people to ask.

50000 ?!? O.o
That's a lot of golarians.
By the way, i guess i didn't expressed what i meant correctly.
I didn't ask for such a list, i was just wondering how the testing would be acknowledged.
The line mentioned by James is fitting this role in a simple and efficient way.
Thank you for your answers, James and Vic. :)

You are welcome, it was a pleasure and thank you for inviting us to participate.

You'll get a pink hobby horse and nothing else and you will like it.

That really is a LOT for a small game company. I would guess that overall 3 to 4 people would profit from each download, so I guess that 150000 to 200000 people had contact with the rules until now. But for playtest feedback, it were the "usual suspects" all the time posting, AFAICT.
(BTW, you could have printed my name into it :-))Stefan
