but is there an error on page 194 of the beta? The section on arcane schools doesn't show a bonus 4th level spell at 8th level. Doesn't make much sense to me to skip only that one, is this a typo?

Sorry also if this double-posted, I clicked submit instead of preview and it seems my original post disappeared into the ether...

It has been asked before, but can't remember where. At 8th level you get the bonus ability listed under the school you specialised in (or the universalist school). You get bonus abilities rather than spells at 1st, 8th and 20th levels.

That's not all entirely relevent.

You wouldn't get a bonus spell at first level because you get your level 1 bonus spell at second level.

You wouldn't get a bonus spell at twentieth level because you get your level 9 bonus spell at eighteenth level.

Which only leaves level 8 in question.

Oversight or not?

I think it wasn't an oversight. I think it was deliberately removed because of the level 8 bonus ability.

But, I don't like the gap in the list. Seems wrong. So I houseruled the 4th level bonus spell back onto the list.

But that's just me.

Is that the only thread? Was there anything official from some other source?

I know, it's gettng close to August 13th and in just a couple months we won't need these Beta rules anymore, but I'm curious if we have a more official ruling than a bit of player speculation.
