Doggone it! This just keeps us in suspense!
Perhaps all of the battle, taunting, dialogue, etc. has taken the balance of 10 minutes. Could the rest of the OOTS arrive soon for a sudden rescue?
Aaaarrrrrgh!!!!

Nope, because none of them can teleport.
Xykon, does look mighty pissed!

See, this is exactly what people keep talking about when they mention Burlew's genius at coming up with the unexpected plot development. Everyone thought the amulet would either fall in the rift, or Xykon would catch it. In true OotS fashion, it was neither! And the even greater beauty of it all is the simplicity and believability of his solutions. Less is more, simpler is better, and yet no one sees it coming and everyone stays on the edge of their seats!

That's what scrolls and Use Magic Device are for! Come on Elan, you can do it! Or better still, Celia!
Xykon, does look mighty pissed!
Indeed. Things... could get ugly.

Hard to say, as stick-figure skeletons don't exhibit an awfully wide range of emotions. When I saw the last panel, it looked as if Xykon were smiling, as if he suddenly had a really Grinchy idea.

The lich looks really angry to me. In fact, when I saw the last panel, I thought "Man, this is gonna HURT."
My guess is that Xykon protected his phylactery from scrying and divination so heavily that even he cannot find it.
Oh, that is a good point! I was thinking it would be easy for him to find it and get it, even at the bottom of the ocean. This might change that. Is the cloister still in effect, and would it extend to his phylactery? If so, Xykon may have to up and move before it wears off, depending on how the next few panels go.
